Roof Bars

Featured Replies

Before I purchased my Octavia, I had a Fabia estate and when we went on holiday we would use Thule roof bars and a roof box attached to the estate rails (bars for sale by the way if anyone interested), anyway, need to get some bars etc...for the Octavia but I just wonder how easy they are to fit compared to fitting them onto roof rails?

Inside the doors at the top, there seems to be 2 little holes, are these for fitting roof bars?

Cheers

I can answer this one. The roof bars fit as you guessed, but the little hole is more of a locator than to hold any load. It will also stop the roof bars moving forwards or backwards, but I'm not sure how much strain they will take. The fitting hooks under the door frame with a little locator "nipple" that inserts into that hole.

That is how the proper Skoda ones fit anyway, not sure if it will be the same with Thule etc.
