Favorit starting

Featured Replies

Hi

I own a Skoda Favorit and I am looking for a way to bypass the need for two keys to start the engine. Can anyone help with this?

thx

two keys??

It's only possible by bypassing the immobiliser system and there is a thread on that somewhere. I'd just leave it as it is though, not much hassle using one key then the other :) + helps keep insurance cheaper.

if you mean the red immobiliser key, go under the dash, find the two wires and plug them together. which is why its rare to find one that works now!

I agree, i have known numerous people with and without skodas who have disabled the immobiliser. In most cases it does not work well. One friend had it disabled by the garage and central locking only worked from passenger door. Another one the dash lights would flash on and off.

Best advice is leave it alone, it takes 2 secs to use immobiliser and i can cope with it in my favorit flairline

Only problem is if you lose the key. AFAIK you cannot get these immobiliser keys easily anymore. I only have the one and if that goes then that's it. Unless anyone knows somewhere that can do them quickly and cheaply? (Don't want to post my key away and risk it getting lost in post and having to wait without using my car. Mayaswell wait till I lose my keys and get it de-immobilised.

I was told somewhere in Kent does or used to do them but they take a while and when previous owner of my car had it done the wrong key was sent by a garage or something so basically they paid to have useless keys made.

Oops only just re-visited this thread :) I keep them on same key ring but problem is if I mislay my keys or they are stolen I'l have only the spare ignition/door key I have kept in the house. Have been considering putting the immobiliser key in the ashtray or something as then if my keys go walk about the immobiliser key is always in the car.

and thereby diminishing the entire point of having an anti-theft immobiliser. clever ;)

lol coudn't resist.
