Where do you lot keep your parrots?

Featured Replies

:confused:I installed mine yesterday, After spending hours trying to work out which one to buy between the CK3100 and CK3200, I went with the CK3100. I chose the CK3100 because it's smaller (easier to find somewhere to put it), less likely to appeal to thieves and cheaper.

I spent AGES trying to decide where to mount it, in the end I decided to mount it without a bracket under the hazard switch, it's not ideal as the angle can't be adjusted but at least it's secure and doesn't rattle/obscure anything.

I've put the microphone at the top of the A-pillar but I think it would perhaps be better near the interior light. I'm told I sound a bit distant on it at the moment so I will probably move it.

I'm very pleased with the unit itself, it's very clear, quick to connect and doesn't have a delay between ending a call and turning the radio back on like my nokia kit did.

My only two real problems with the kit are: Firstly, the instructions are appalling, and secondly when it rings it plays its own horrible ringtone which I can't seem to turn off.... along with the phone playing it's tone . I can live with that though.

Here is my parrot :D

I think the Parrot you have is still available, mine is just a limited run 'black' model according to the box.

Hi Phil, I was lucky enough to have mine fitted so I didn't have to mess about going through the aggro you did. However, mine's mounted in exactly the same place as you've placed yours and it works fine. Can't help about the annoying ring tone, but I'm sure if you scroll through the general options/settings you'll soon find out how to adjust that. What I can say is that my mike is mounted right at the side of the driver's side interior light (nearest to driver). It doesn't really make a difference to the light working, but probably makes a difference on sound quality as it is mounted nearer the centre of the car, rather than on the A pillar nearer exterior noise... Hope that helps. All the best.

I opted for the 3000 Evolution, partly because it's less conspicuous, and partly because I'm fitting 2 of them.

Mic is up in the roof (not a good pic)

And it only took me 5 hours to do (though most of that was running about trying to get the radio out as no-one had the release keys, and a bodged attempt with a leatherman and a swiss army knife made things worse rather than better.

I now have the keys. The Fabia install should be easier. Probably
