Newby to Skoda

Featured Replies

I am due to take delivery of a Skoda Fabia Estate 1.9TDi Elegance on a 55 plate

at the moment it has 30000 miles on the clock so as I do about 10/12K a year I will start saving for the 40K service.

This is a big jump for me from a little Daewoo Matiz 800cc 2001 which I have had from new.

I did my head in looking through all the car mags etc to decide what to buy I looked at a Toyota Yaris but did not like the central digital display. The Vauxhall Corsa but felt the seats, for me, were very hard and a new Fiat Panda but I would have had to pay extra for several extras that I wanted + the heavy depreciation in the first 2 years and I kept coming back to the comfort of the Fabia.

I was looking for the 1.4 TDi Hatch Comfort but when I found this one with the top speck I decided to go for it only time will tell if I made the right choice :)

I have bought it from a main dealer who has serviced it from new and since I will keep it (Hopefully) till it is probably 5 yrs old I thought about taking out a Skoda extended warranty it still has one year of the original warranty to go but this appears to be Dealer based don't quite understand why Skoda only give a 2 year manufacturers warranty.

Thanks for listening to a newby prattling on about his new car

congrats on your new car.... must feel fast compaired to the 800cc matiz! lol..
