Superb ICE

Featured Replies

How difficult would it be to replace the speakers in the Superb. They are pretty good anyway, but they tend to get a bit breaky when there is a lot of bass. I want to leave standard headunit, so would changing the speakers even make a difference?

If its anything like the Octy Mk1, then probably not. The first port of call was always the headunit in that car, so I can only assume the Superb is the same.

I'm sure an ICE expert will be along soon enough to correct me.. :)

It's safe to say the the set up in the Superb isn't that bad as OEM equipment but obviously this can be improved.

VAG do offer upgrade speakers for VW and I am confident that they offer this for the Skoda setup as well but I could be wrong.....

Upgrading the speakers is easily done as the door cards come off fairly straight forward but I would upgrade the head unit as you won't get the full effect of your upgraded speakers as the standard Symphony unit more than likely doesn't pump out enough Watts per channel...

Just a quick word of warning do not damage the speaker grill, I discovered this to my cost the grill is bonded to the door "card" and cost
