I want to put larger speakers in the rear of my Fabia vrs (in the parcel shelf) and will be running the wires from the existing speakers.

However I've noticed that there are 4 wires to each speaker. Two of them appear to do nothing, why is that?

they will probably run the tweeters.

If its anything like the Octavia then two of the wires feed the speaker and two of them feed a tweeter that is located in the back doors...

:iagree: they are paralleled, two wires run into the speaker, then two wires come out and go to the tweeter
