Will the boot spoiler from the Passat fit the Superb? The 'lip' just doesn't do it for me.

I've no idea, but the hinges and struts on the Superb are so stiff/feeble that the addition of any extra weight would make the thing horrible to use - it's bad enough already. If you bang it too hard with the lights on, the number plate lamps will not last long.

It will definately fit. No problem.

As for the hinges, the passat spoiler is quite small and light so no issues.

For the Plate lights.. Yeap my leds are alway blown esp on the right side of the plate.

While I agree that the struts on the Superb are a problem this is not Superb specific and is a VAG problem.......wouldn't worry about putting the spoiler on there but I would be concerned about the look.

Your struts will become stiff whether you have a spoiler on there or not.....it's just a VAg fact of life I am afraid no matter how many times you may choose to replace them.....
