Opinions on Skoda customer service

Featured Replies

Skoda UK are the pits, and so are most of the dealers in the Manchester area. I gave up on the lot of them. I keep my cars until they're about 7-8 years old by which time they are worth so little that a FSH means almost nothing to it's value, so I save time, hassle and money and service my cars myself.

After the way we were treated by my local dealers last week I can't see me buying another Skoda... Makes me glad I chose to have my Fabia serviced by an independent now.

This being my first Skoda I was expecting good things from the dealer, and Skoda UK should I ever have to contact them. Not even 6 months into ownership and both the dealer and Skoda have proved themselves to be as useful as a chocolate fire guard. Shame as the product is good, but the back-up is utter cr*p IMHO. Makes you wonder if these guys have so much business they can afford to put off my future custom. Oh well, their (small) loss.

I've found the staff at the 2 Glasgow area Skoda dealers very good. OTOH others have had very different experiences with the same staff.

I can't comment on SUK, as I've never had to be more than peripherally aware of them.

I take my Felicia back to where I bought it ten years ago: Clarion Cars in Worthing, West Sussex. They are not now official Skoda dealers for the area, that privilige went to Ballamy's of Shoreham, who then promptly disappeared, so now we don't have an official Skoda dealer in the arera! But at least Clarion know what they are doing with Skodas, and have sorted out all my problems.

I have dealt with Station Garage, Ewhust for a few years now and they have always been good. Parts and service dept. have always been spot on with some obsure bits I have ordered.

Bought the vRS from there recently and they bent over backwards to ensure we had the car in time for the holiday.

Alex Lawrie have been great with me... even though it's an import from Malta :)

My previous post on it - http://www.briskoda.net/forums/general-car-chat/out-order-just-me/86321/

In addition the new car was delivered dirty in my opinion.

I also got a quite rude phone call from another dealer who I didn't buy from (didn't offer nearly as good a trade in).

I've been out of franchised dealers for 3 years having used a very good independent for my Clio. But previous to that Ford in Crieff were ok and Vauxhall in Forfar are ok too.

I've rarely hear a good word about service depts at any franchised dealers I don't think Skoda are alone in being p1ss poor.
