Hi, this is my first time on the forum so am still trying to find my way around!

I am looking to replace my 2 year old, 90,000 miles Altea 1.9 TDI with either an Octavia or Superb and would welcome any advice you guys have especially on the following

1. is the 1.9TDI 115BHP powerful enough in the Suberb.I know the 2.0 is preferable but as it is a company car it is down to tax and the options available?(either 1.9 Elegance or 2.0 comfort)

2. I would really prefer to have Xenons as I will be commuting across the Pennines (Woodhead Pass) each day; are these worth having?

3. I see that the Superb Elegance now has the option of sports suspension.Has anyone experienced this , is it worth the extra or is the handling of the Superb OK with the normal set up.

The 115bhp engine won't turn your car into a rocket ship, but it ought to be plenty fast enough for most people's needs. I seem to remember that 2.0TDI Superbs have some pretty serious issues regarding the particulate filters, which, if they haven't been fixed yet mean that the 2.0TDI is best avoided. (Or do you mean 2.0 petrol?)

Those that have them seem to think they're the business. If they're on offer, I'd take them!

Don't know about this: there are a few members on here with 'pimped' Superbs who might be able to help...

Thanks for all your greetings and advice.I guess the decision is mine now but I am sure I will enjoy the car whichever one I choose!!

However I suppose there will now be several months wait for the new motor to arrive:(

1.9 would be a fine car with xenons
