Hi Everybody

Featured Replies

I've discovered this forum whilst browsing around looking for info on running biodiesel on the 1.9 Tdi PD 105HP engine fuel filler cap says don't use it ??????

Car is the Octavia 2 4x4 :thumbup:owned since June this year and thinks its fabulous the grip is unbelievable can't wait for some winter weather , bought as an ex-demonstrator as the Scout came out , rammed with extras xenon headlights , leather pack , rear sensors etc retail new £20k + on the forecourt at less than £14k saw it on the internet on Friday evening and bought it at 9-00am on the Saturday morning.

Also own a 2000 Fabia 1.4mpi as the wifes runabout.

Previous Octavia was a 2003 1.6i Ambiente 183,000 miles and still got £3k part ex !!!!!!:) only ever had 1 problem , blew the spark plug out of the engine on pot 3 the helicoil gave up cost £60 to repair.

Great cars !!!!!!!!!

I think it is something to do with the way a PD engine works that makes it unsuitable for boi diesel but you may be able to use a small percentage ...and I do mean small, I am sure it's on here somewhere ...something like 5% bio to normal.

Anyway welcome to Briskoda

I'm sure that a certain Yellow Fabia owning member uses "homegrown" biodiesel though I'm not sure at what ratio's

:iagree: The vRS is a popular variant of the marque, there are one or two 4x4 owners lurking on here. Enjoy the forum

Hiya. I'd not use biodiesel in a Pompe Duse engine, because they rely on the lubricity of the fuel to keep the injectors from siezing up.

"Hi Dr Nick!"

sorry....I watch the Simpsons too much....

welcome to Brisky :)

Hello and welcome. Sounds to me that you got a good deal on your car. Don't think I'll be taking my car near much grass, although I did have a nervous moment getting out of the car park at Goodwood this year on the Sunday.

Welcome! I am new here as well. I joined to find out more about using 100% BD in my new Octavia Elegance 1.9 TDI PD. This guy Diesel Bob Tuning - Vegetable Bob says that this car runs fine on 100% BD and this is why I bought it but the manual says no. Typical. You are just the person I want to chat to about this stuff because it is so difficult to find specific information about testing and conversions (if required) on the Internet in this country. Maybe we should set up a biodiesel forum for people serious about using more than a piddly 5%, as recommended by manufacturers and as supplied by Tesco.

Good to have you on here - looking forward to trouble free 100% BD use!!

Hi and welcome to Briskoda :)

I'd go the remap route myself ;)
