fumes in car felicia diesel

Featured Replies

Help.....just bought a Felicia diesel with 59000 on the clock, the car runs great with no problems other than an oily smell within the cabin. I am led to belive the car has had its gearbox breather sorted. The oil has just been changed to semi synthetic which has improved the situation slightly. The car doesn't burn oil or use excessive fuel, the air filter is clean and there are no oil leaks. This smell is giving me a headache. I will try anything to sort this out. Help. :(

Hi,

as TeflonTom already suggested in another answer to your previous post it could be as simple as vapour/odour through the fresh air ducts. I found that the Felicia seems to suck in every odour from the outside far more easily than most other cars I ever had.

Gearbox breather blocked - if that's the case the typical symptom on a Felicia is that oil start seeping along the speedo wire and dripping from behind the dashboard down to the footwell - see this thread:
