Peeling Paintwork

Featured Replies

Not sure if any one can help here.

My Skoda 52 plate Superb has an area of paint surrounding the edge of each headlight/indicator unit peeling off.

This is on the sharp curved bit that meets up with the light unit.

This is the same on both sides (spooky).

Has any one else got this problem, Skoda customer services have been sent a picture of the offending area and clain it is stone chip damage and will not sort it out?

Any one got any suggestions or similar paint damage?

Without seeing a picture it does sound like stone damage, is it the paint or the lacquer that is 'peeling'?

Do you use a pressure washer to clean the car?

How large are the areas, can you not use a touch up pen, or is it too large?

The body's are galvanized anyway so at least it wont start to rust!

The peeling paintwork is in identical places on both wings it is on the inside edge of the wing ede next to the light unit.

I would have thought that for it to go in both places in exactly the same place and to exactly the same extent.

I don't think that it woudl be likely that a stone could chip on what is essentially the inside edge, even more so of both wings.

Is it on metal or plastic? The fabias bumpers peal all the time and skoda are aware of this as they did mine under warrenty. They did a crap job tho as it needs doing again 6 months on!

Email me the pics and I will host them for you on this thread mate or post them up in here yourself and we can see what your referring too.....

Cheers Mr Baker I will indeed take a close up photo as soon as I can manage it, i would like it sorted as I have already got to be top of the list for the new one in September at my Skoda dealer.

I am very impressed at the new one, so thanks for your assistance.
