How many felly's had air con?

Featured Replies

Seen it mentioned that some had air con but all the one's in ebay auctions and ads I have seen do not have air con. Were few fitted with it? Was it an add on option? Or was it only with a special edition?

I thought it was either L&K, or just the Czech cars that had it...?

It was available as an option, but I've never seen a british Felly with a/c.

I thought it was only an option abroad, no cars in the UK had them.

Ah well, best not hold out for one with air con in the UK then

I have only seen one Felly in an Auto Trader with Air Con

But that was when I first started looking.

I have found Felly A/C radiators on ebay (1.6 eng models) so was considering retro-fitting it to mine.

AFAIK only the later models and SLXI models had it as an option??

Option on GLXI and SLXI.

i think it was only really fitter in hot country's.

Is that just the front radiator for engine coolant designed to run in conjunction with a car with air con? would have imagined adding air con would be quite a bit more involved.

Yeah there must be some sort of unit to cool the air. The radiator must be there just to help cool whatever runs the air con.

It works like a refridgerator:

Need a compressor which is aux belt driven (alternator end) with brackets mounted to the engine, an evaporator in the heater inlet tract that cools & dehumidifies air and the radiator/heat exchanger, which is mounted in the front of the engine bay.

It's a sealed unit apparently, any part removed allows all the refridgerant gas to escape & it can only be recharged in a garage or by a specialist.

Possibly knocks 5bhp off & 5mpg

Mine has aircon fitted. I open the sunroof.

:D:thumbup:

Mine has air con and its a 1.9 Diesel (dont tell me if it was retro fitted, as i will have 2 tell insurance company then, and as im 17 with £1k insurance, i dont want to lol)

I have seen a 1.9d glxi fitted with air con before.

But would have thought it was only really popular in hotter countries...

I have often wanted it before in mine and would love it if i could fit it easily.... that leather aint half hot in the sun!!! hehe.

But yeh... as above... i either hold me finger on the windows button or open my sun roof!

whenever i open the sun roof, my hair try's to make its way out the roof!!!!!!!!!

the air flows all wrong

Stronger wig glue?

afraid i have to live with it all the time, cant take it off....

hehe

I think its a nice air flow... windows open like a tiny bit (about 1cm) and then sunroof just open about 1inch.

But you cant beat the feeling of having the windows wide open and blasting down a by-pass somewhere!! hehe

:eek

My Felicia has four speed fan, dashboard ventilation vents and a sunroof for its air con. Plus the side windows wind down.

Having said that about 2 years ago a 1999 silver 1600 was for sale in Louth Lincolnshire and it was claimed to have it fitted. If it had its the only one I've seen and the car was still around Louth earlier this year. I don't know who supplied it new but it was a dealer from around that area.
