Warning Lights

Featured Replies

From time to time my Skoda Superb 2.5 Tdi ABS warning lightcomes on. Sometimes i can lose it simply by doing a re-start. i have asked two or three different Skoda garages to check it for me. They mostly conclude that it is a faulty warning light and not a fault in the braking sytem, but nobody tells me what I should do about it. I get the impression nobody wants to bother. Has anyone else experienced this?

What you really need is a diagnostic check to see if there are any stored fault codes.

I have had three or for diagnostic tests. That is what I said in my orignal entry

So what did they tell you was the outcome of the diagnostic tests then?

If your ABS light comes on then I would suggest it could be one of your Wheel Speed Sensors causing a problem as I have had this issue histrorically on my Bora.....

They told me there was nothing wrong according t the diagnostic test, so I concluded it was a dodgy warning light, but thank you for the suggestion that it may be a wheel sensor problem. Funny two garages (including one mains dealer) did not know, or did they not want to know?

Always having owned high mileage cars the only contact I have had with the dealers is for parts so I can't comment but I am a massive fan of a 'proper mechanic' and not a 'fitter' as I believe 'most' of the dealer mechanic's are.....that is just my opinion though and is a general sweeping comment.....
