Superb boot light problem

Hi All, the boot light on my 1.9 classic hasn't been working so I bought a new bulb and guess what? It still don't work! I was looking for a switch to check that but I can't find one anywhere around the boot. I'm guessing that it must be inside the chrome strip that the boot latch slots in to. Any ideas please?

Switch is inside latch assembly on boot lid and controls boot light via CCM. Does the dashboard "boot open" indicator work? If it does, then switch is OK.
