Felicia ecu query

Featured Replies

I am new to this so bear with me .My wife got the ignition key stuck in her beloved

felicia 1300 gli estate . I got a 2nd hand ignition /key barrel & after changing found it fired up & then died .

A recommended garage claimed the ECU had blown & showed me blue/green deposits on the far left of the connectors .

Since then I have got the matching ignition receiver .

What should I do?

I would appreciate your advice .

Thanks

Is this the 1.3 spi or 1.3 mpi. If the ECU had blown I would expect the fuses to have gone too. If it fires up then the problem is not the ECU, it will be that the ECU needs matching to the key immobiliser thingy I imagine.

As the car is stuck at the garage I cannot say for sure if its is MPI or SPI . I can confirm

it is a 97 model ref GLI ,Engine 50KW with closed-looped emission control system.

Thanks for your advice I will swap the transponder from the old key to the new one .

:)
