DAB Radio

I currently have a JVC 12CD Auto changer system in my car. What I'm currently debating is taking that out and sticking a DAB/CD-MP3 reciever in or even a DVD one.

I got an Acoustic Solutions ICS-100 from ASDA for £10 a while back, although almost certainly none will be in stock anywhere now. Acoustic Solutions | ICS100 In Car DAB Digital Radio | Convert FM car radio to DAB Digital Radio I wasn't impressed with it myself, the extra stations didn't seem worth the effort and the sound quality of the actual unit was poor in that the volume output to aux input was weak even on full setting. I eventually ripped it out of the car. Try a cheap home unit first and see if you'd appreciate the extra stations, if you haven't already maybe?! :)

Rather than mess about installing a DAB aerial (and making your car look like a taxi), you can get these things that split your existing FM aerial into two for DAB and FM. I know each of these has different wavelengths or whatever, but AFAIK an FM aerial should generally be fine for DAB.

I have been using the Blaupunkt BAB Woodstock unit for three years - it's excellent. Full DAB plus FM/MW/LW, cd also plays MP3s, and a seperate SD card slot will play MP3s from an SD card.

Another option new out - DAB radio manufacturer Pure have just launched a product called Highway, migh be worth a look? Allows you to listen to DAB through your standard radio, seperate windscreen mount DAB aerial, audio outputs through an accessory socket or by broadcasting on a free FM frequency.
