Dension ipod docking cable

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I've just had the Dension i-pod docking cable installed in my Octavia which has the Bosch Stream head unit. It looks like in order for it to be any use I have got to create playlists which is no great problem. Is it normal that you must select the playlist you want before you plug the i-pod in? And is it normal that you cannot browse the i-pod once it's plugged in, so in order to change playlist you must disconnect, select the new list and reconnect?

 Hi I have just installed the same kit, and i`m finding the same fault!!! I`m also finding it selects what it wants to play very randomly!!!! Any thoughts on this would be grateful!!

Yours Bulb. (Frustrated Octy 2 Sport owner)

do yours not change the palylist when you choose different CD's? ie, CD2 = playlist 2.

The ipod doe lock whilst its connected to the unit but you can change the settings to make ipod controls work but i think this then turns off the buttons on the stream, ie next track will only work on the ipod not the head unit.

I had a Dension 400 in my Octy and it worked the playlists fine through my MFD2

Hi thanks for your replies!! Please forgive me but the playlist`s how does that work. I have deleted all playlist on my Nano and what i presume is a new playlist but still cd1 not playlist 1 and cd2 is the playlist 1 as prev played!!!

i set up 5 playlists on my ipod on the pc. connect the unit and they all work with cd1 - cd5. if yours doesnt do this then i guess there may be a problem. could you try another ipod to rule out teh mp3 side?

Thanks for that!! So am i right in thinking if i was to split the music inbetween 5 playlist i should be ok??

you should be but its odd that it doesnt work on one playlist. ive not tried a single playlist on mine though.

What i did was just plugged my nano in and tried it and it was doing allsorts!! so i deleted the current lot of playlists and created 2 one for my wife and one for me!! but that didnt work. i have just made 5 playlists and will try tomorrow! will update you. many thanks!!!

Thanks for this. The dealer didn't explain the functionality, rather just fittted it and said it works, off you go! I have now sorted out the playlists and it works fine.

Don't suppose you know how to change the settings to make the ipod controls work?
