Autogas binary conversion on vrs diesel??

Featured Replies

Avon Autogas ltd :: lpg conversion

Does anyone out there know anyone who has done one of these diesel binary conversions?

For anyone not familiar with it, instead of being a replacement fuel as with petrol engines, it works as a fuel supplement to reduce diesel usage and its also supposed to give power boost as well.

I don't want to go messing with the car if its going to ruin it, as I'll have to pay for it to be fitted, and then removed if I lose half my power because its actually a bit pants :thumbdwn:

Have it in my fabia. :)

Not this conversion but something along similar lines from the USA. Have seen my car tell me I'm doing over 80mpg on diesel alone (as it cannot tell what the propane usage is as its a standalone system)

Cool, thanks for the reply!

Did you get it fitted locally? I'm based in Bristol so it might not be too much of a trek for me to get it sorted?

I'd much rather go for a system I have seen proven, and given the bhp you've got yours up to, I'm taking evidence that yours is well proven :P

Would that work with the PD diesel engines as well?

Would that work with the PD diesel engines as well?

Should work on any diesel. :)

Sadly I don't have any mates who are good at that sort of thing, so I'm going to have to stump up for a garage job if I want it done.

I take it you went for the performance end of the mix then devonutopia? But with figures of 80mpg, I also assume as long as you don't thump the pedal too hard all the time that it still gives a nice economy boost? :)

Yes - I got it 100% for topping up the fuelling when on full boost, but it does have good side effects when just pootling along.

I'm tempted to do it but I know its going to cost me a bit more than yours did ;) At least I know its viable tech ;)

I'm hoping to go for a non-BHP enhancing boost for a start as I don't really want to have to insure it for more :P
