Hi guys,

I currently don't own a Skoda, but will be buying a Fabia VRs shortly :D

I thought I would introduce myself,

My real name is Martyn, I currently drive a 56 Focus Sport 1.8, but it is too thirsty and I'm only averaging 25mpg.

I have read in several places about having the VRs remapped and I was just wondering what power other people have gotten out of a remap.

Cheers

Martyn

Welcome to Briskoda.

Between 160 - 180 BHP, but Im the other vRS owner.

Other members will be able to give you better info in a bit.

mluton, thanks for the response.

I have heard the figure of 170bhp, but wasnt too sure :o

Also, if anyone knows, what would be the increase in the torque?

Thanks

Martyn

Welcome, where in Stafffs are you?

A non-remapped fabia vrs will probably feel as fast as your current car due to the big lump of torque at 2000RPM and will certainly be a lot more economical. I recomend driving one before you decide on the remap route.

FABMARK, I'm in Newcastle-under-Lyme

I've got a test drive booked in for saturday, for a VRs in Macclesfield, which is the nearest Skoda garage that has one in stock :(

It wasn't a definate thing to get it remapped, I was just intrigued as to what the increases where, should I opt to get it remapped :D

The 130bhp and 228f/lb of torque should suffice my consumption needs, and still fell pretty sporty as well, again it was just an interest of what the increase would be.

Thanks for the advice.

Hello and welcome!

Figures for a remapped VRS will be around 160-180 bhp and 280-320 torque.

It will feel much more fun than the focus, you get a real kick in the back about about 2000 revs!

Hi m8,

Have you spoken to Ian at "Finnikin's" in Leek? They're ex-main dealers, but are now independant dealers who can source stuff to meet requirements.

When I bought mine off them (from new), they offered me a far better deal than anyone else.

BTW, you can get silly amounts of torque, if you want to!
