Bonnet warning lamp on

Featured Replies

Skoda Superb 1.9 TDI 100 Classic 2004

My alarm went off at 3 in the morning and had to leave the doors because it kept on going off.

When I left for work the bonnet warning lamp flickered on and off, on my return home the warning lamp lit fully on all the time.

I have disconnected the bonnet switch plug and checked the lamp, still on.

Then shorted the 2 wires, light still on.

I have removed the plastic cover over the battery compartment to check for water and it's dry.

A week ago I drove through a flooded road, I wonder if there is a connector for the bonnet switch under the engine or along the chassis which has got water in it ?

A friend checked for faults with VagCom and there are none.

Anyone had similar probs ??

Update

With help from IanVW,I found water in the passenger front footwell.

The top of the carpet is dry but on lifting up the corner to check, the underneath was soaking wet.

There's a large electrical junction directly below the passenger side front corner and the Convenience Controller is located in the middle of the footwell.

Once I get it all dried out hopefully all should be ok

I think the water came from the pollen filter housing. So I'll replace the filter and reseal it
