Variable service intervals

Featured Replies

Car has done about 400 miles since last service and the variable indicator has 'calculated' itself.

Whilst I've not driven slowly per se I have driven reasonably gently and the indicator shows the following.

Is this about right in others opinions as to what I should expect?

That looks fine.

Skoda say between 9k - 20k or two years, so your is bang on.

Just make a note in your diary now :D

*shudders*

blimey you're lucky - I 've only done 300 miles since collecting the car (08 plate).

Mine says 9000 miles or 373 days - I've been running it in so have been driving fairly sedately :-0

Is yours diesel? I have a petrol vRS.

Mines a diesel 2.0 6 speed manual - Just check its set to variable as the dealer 'forgot' on mine and I had to take it back to be set properly (that coincidently showed similar figures to yours)

hmm that's interesting- I will check thanks.

The service sticker says QG1 - can you tell in maxi dot if it's set to variable?

I never got an answer as to how you can tell via maxi-dot.

However when I collected car and it showed similar figures to yours I questioned it as 'not right'.

When it was set correctly it didn't display any figures for miles or dyas to go just '---' in the display. This was because it takes a few hundred miles to 'calculate' itself as answered by others on here to my question.

That's when I knew it was on variable setting OK. Also the figures will change depending how I drive whereas on an annual setting it will count down exactly day by day, mile by mile so you can check it over a couple of days/run of miles?

I'll keep an eye on it and hope it changes!
