centrol locking resolved

Featured Replies

does anyone else agree with me that if skoda made there doors the same as vw with regards to the fact the electrics are mounted outside the actuall door cavity and away from water we would not be suffering with with the problems we are getting because a multi pin plug is possitioned inside the door cavity on a mk1 octy and in such a position it fills with water, ie the plug its self acts like a cup in a shower, (should water get inside the cup/ muti pin plug< it can not even drain out.

picture below is what you see after the door card has been removed from a mkiv golf, nothing like a mk1 octy is it:(

It's like that on the Fabia and Octavia II and you still can't win. That carrier needs replacing when the the window regulator breaks which does take time. Also that is the part atrributed to the Fabia water ingress problem. The manufacturers don't care as they make money out of selling parts and their workshops make money out of fixing them.

You're better off with the MKI in terms of it been straight forward and DIYable.
