Featured Replies

:eek:My girl friends sister has come down from Uni for a few days and mentioned her car doesmt feel the same as when she bought it 2 years ago. I asked her when it last had a service and she told me she hasnt had one since owning the car (31000 miles)! Its an X reg clio 1.6 16v RSI 110BHP and its pretty quick. I told her to get spark plugs, oil & filter, air filter so I can give it a mini service! Iv never seen anything so neglected!

Heres some pics of the air filter! Suprised any air got into the engine! It now flys with the new bits on!

The fluff on it is part of the filter.

Yes it's bad, but the MK I Octy one I had just before the recommended 40k interval was like a block of soot :(

I thought the fluff was the dirt as the new filter I put in didnt have fluff and Iv never seen fluff on a fliter before! Learn something new everyday!

That's appalling.

I'd probably wash the fluff if it comes off and once dry put it back at the bottom of the filter box where it came from.

Only reason I say that is I saw a clio one I was doing and thought WTF too.

I was told there were two filters one with and one without, but that was from some local motor factor.

The fluff is just a pre-filter to increase the lifespan of the filter element.

Not even due for a change - going by the Skoda service schedule. Took one out of a Focus the other week, you couldn't separate the paper pleats and that had a Ford service history.

does the car now move!!!

Shocking that they allow so long between changes isn't it!

The car flys now and prob quickier than mine as it weighs nothing!
