Hey peeps hoping someone can help with the most recent niggle I have with my fabia.

The past few months I've noticed a strange issue with my 55 plate VRS.  Last year my turbo went pop and as well as scaring the crap out of me it also ensured that I didn't drive the car hard since.

After this I then had a boost leak for about the past month as there was a small split in the lower boost pipe connected to the inter cooler. (since had this fixed)

I gave the car a 'sprited' drive for the first time in a long time yesterday and noticed that the car appears to judder under load. Especially in the higher gears (e.g. Foot to the floor in 3rd gear from say 30mph). I did a little reading and heard that perhaps there could be an issue with the injectors. ( or possibly injector wiring loom) Anyway, I ran some diesel Redex through the tank and it's made little difference.

I don't drive the car hard at all & my missus uses the car as a daily commute for around 30 miles a day. I feel I've been pretty unlucky with the car over the last few years as I've gone through a turbo and a new clutch! When I had the clutch replaced I didn't change the DMF at the same time :( do you think it could be the DMF despite the fact that the car only judders when pushed as I don't see this problem with gradual acceleration?

Hoping someone can help shed some light as my mechanical knowledge is poor at best.

Mark

Going through DMF problem before mine was converted when I accelerated also like yourself mine used to judder and shake the engine very bad. Just like an uneven load in a washing machine.also shook the engine when idling. Been great since converted to SMF.

DMF mate start saving   £450 note should get you a solid conversion, just be aware smf clatter a bit clutch released on tick over, unless you get a heavy flywheel matching weight of dmf in which case alot better

Was hoping that this was not the case but think I'm in denial lol - Can I just ask, what could I expect to get for the car if I sold if with the DMF issue. It's a 55 plate black VRS lowered 40mm on supersport springs with Cupra splitter. 80,000 miles, FSH with recon turbo & clutch (both 12 months old). P.S. this is not a for sale thread, I'm just gauging the price I could expect to get if I gave up and sold it given the ££££'s I've spent over the last year :(

just did clutch and DMF on wifes mk I vrs

standard clutch plate, DMF, and release bearing from darkside was £414 delivered next day, new gearbox oil (from dealer £54), 2 weekends work (due to weather and other things i had to do)

when i spoke to darkside to order the parts they asked if it was stock or i planned to goto more power so i got the right spec parts, also said most seem to go at between 60-80k miles

the other thing that seems to point to a dmf issues is judder on tick over that dissappears if you push the clutch pedal down

are you standard or mapped etc?

I would say a good car, with no issues is worth £4250 or so, you may get away with selling it and new owner not noticing - but not on here. With the issue and hassle for new owner i would say £3400, i would just get the work done and keep the car, or get the work done and sell it. I wouldnt try to sell with issue it frightens people.

Hmmm ... I have just noticed this problem but put it down to unbalanced wheels as the weights seem to have gone missing. Only really happens in 4th and 5th and get no noise change when I depress the clutch on idle.

Weights or clutch ?

I have a spare clutch so neither are a problem to sort out but would rather not have the fitting cost of the clutch to handle just at the moment.

could still be flywheel, or maybe even drive shafts. my flywheel juddered but didnt make any noise, however after a couple thousand miles she started rattling and clunking with the clutch up
