  1. Hi, I was once shown these timing measures from the camshaft position sensor on my 1,2 tsi with chain. I was told that what was important, was that the angles where not to big. But what does that mean ? I know that these values is used for the engine to have correct timing, and therefore it should say something about how stretched the chain is - but compared to what ? Can anyone help med getting a better understanding ?

I dont know - but if You have a button on the dash You can press, then there is no reason to have the option in the MFD as well. My problem is that i dont have i button to press, and therefore only can reset the tpms by hooking up the pc and vcds - so for me the option in the MFD would be very nice. But i guess i have to install the button - but it is almost impossible to route the single wire out in the engine bay to the ABS module.

Ok thanks for looking But is it not strange that the cluster works with the HBA then ? It has the correct symbol with the "A" in a light when it is enabled. HBA is rather new - get my point ? The cluster is also capable of displaying the symbol for coffee break - driver alert - so i guess it cannot be that old ? The tpms functionality is OK - i can reset the tpms with vcds and the chime goes off - so its just the reset from the maxidot i miss.... When i installed the HBA i read a post written by you where you stated to fill the 09 module with zero's, an then afterwards the correct long coding , for the module to behave correctly. Could it be the same with this problem ?

Hi Langers, I really appreciate all Your knowledge, and hope you can guide me as well. I have an octavia from 06-2010, with both instrument cluster and gateway replacement. (I have fitted HBA, and it works like a charm). But for some reson i cannot get the instrument to appear with the "Tire Pressure" menu in the maxidot, so that i can reset the TPMS that way. I have done all the coding you have described, incl. the hidden bit 1 of byte 16 in the abs module. Im frustrated that it will not show - i don't get any errorcodes. Do you think that i should try to soft reset the modules, or is it a waste of time ? Do you know which wersions of hard an software is required ? My instrument is as follows: Address 17: Instruments (J285) Labels:| 5K0-920-xxx-17.clb-SRI1 Part No SW: 1Z0 920 803 K HW: 1Z0 920 803 K Component: KOMBI H04 0405 Serial number: 00000000000000 And the gate way: Address 19: CAN Gateway (J533) Labels:. 7N0-907-530-V2.clb Part No SW: 7N0 907 530 G HW: 1K0 907 951 Component: J533 Gateway H41 1614 Revision: H41 Serial number: 241010F1001858 BR Mikkel
  6. I have also bought a new chain tensioner - and just wanna know if you just unscrewed the old one and then torque'de the new one to 60 nm, without locking the camshaft with the "camshaft locking tool" ? If it is safe to do the operation without locking the cam, that would be the easiest
  7. Just as a final note, i did replace the sensor as i mentioned in my first post (the G62 - 03F 919 501 B), and now everything works just fine . It was a fiddle to replace it - even though only 3 torx had to come out. Firstly a bracket under the thermostat housing could be removed with 2 torx30, and thereafter one torx30 held the sensor, which was replaced. During replacement approx 0,5 liter coolant fluid ran out. Lastly cleared all codes, and that was that.
  8. Yes i think you are in error. My enine manual says this, and is reffering to the 03F 919 501 B
  9. Sorry sorry - page did not update before i copied the vin. Here is the correct one TMBCM61Z9B2015010
  10. Yes the vin is WAUZZZ8P45A144054 , and is is also the B type i have bought, sorry. It looks like this:
  11. Hi, I have an errorcode P0117, signal from coolant temp sensor G62 is to low. My thermometer in the dash is also not moving. I have bought a new sensor which should be this one 03F 919 501 A, but i cannot figure out if i have to dismantle the entire thermostat housing to gain access to this sensor ? It is fastened with a torx - and the torx seems to go through the plastic of the thermostat housing as well. No i'm in doubt if its another temp sensor because a little higher on the same side of the engine it seems there are the normal coolant temp sensor with the green plastic attched with a clip. Can anyone advise ? Thanks in advance
  12. Hi GamesGoblin Thanks for the update - I'm very pleased that changing the tensioner have a positive effect on the rattle! I will also try to change the tensioner in my car with the F version. Did you lock the camshafts with locking tool, before the replace, or did you just loosen the old one and replaced it, without any prep. ? I think it should be possible to do it, without locking the camshafts - wich I would much prefer, as it is a lot easier then, BR Mikkel
  13. Hi GamesGoblin Im very coriuous about Your experience with changing the chain tensioner - did it do any improvement on rattling on coldstarts, or is is to early to say ? BR Mikkel
  14. Hi No worries - I reallly aapreciate Your input anf find it really helpfull if You will update in a couple of weeks or so, if it really has helped. Cheers
