I called AF to get some specialist insurance for a charity rally I'm taking part in (required insurance to drive across Europe with "rally" stickers on car which caused other insurers to refuse to cover me, despite no set route, racing or timed stages).

I was told it was absolutely something they could insure me for and I could either hold the line or wait to be called back in around 10 minutes,

That was a month ago and I never heard back . I have a similar report from someone else requesting a similar quote.

I tried ringing back a few hours later but was told the quote wasn't ready but I'd be called as soon as it is. I can only assume they can't provide the policy I needed.

I have since managed to get a quote from a different insurer but will try again in the next few weeks for a shorter policy and report back.

I'm surprised that you didn't get a positive response from ourselves. Our sister company HIC Insurance provided tailor made policies for this type of activity. We normally advise our clients this. I have posted a link to their website which has all the information. Hope this helps.

I did actually get a quote from HIC before speaking to Adrian Flux, I didn't know they were a sister company otherwise I wouldn't have tried to compare the two of you on price .

They weren't recommended to me by yourselves but instead by the organizers of the event we are taking part in.
