Car back to full power at last....

Featured Replies

My furby has not pulled how it should do for over a year now. I have changed so many parts im not sure which one has fixed the problem but it now "pulls like a train". The diffrence is night and day. I recently changed the vacblock and top intercooler pipe boost seals but they did not seems to make any diffrence. Whilst I had the boost pipe off I cleaned the map sensor. Still no change so I bought another brand new Bosch maf. Still did not seem to immediately make any diffrence. Fine tuned to cam timing still the same. The only other thing i can think of that may have fixed it is the warm weather getting my turbo nice and hot blowing out some junk. Now the car is pulling how i remember (bloody quick) the clutch is slipping with anything more than about half throttle. I going to get the Valeo SMF kit but the thought of garage disturbing anything worries me when I have only just got the car right and am not sure what I did that fixed it. I am tempted to tell the garage to take it for a drive before any work is done so they know how it should pull and that its the same after the work is done, think that sound's reasonable?. Remember my car has been to the local main dealer and Indy garages numerous times and they could not diagnose the problem, I had to fix it myself. I would love to say vagcom has helped me get the car back to full power but it has not as it has never shown the problem in logs. Just to reiterate, the car is now evil with the front end lifting up and back end bitting down again when boosting. It has been working correctly for one week now and im praying it stays like it.

I'm interested in what fixed the issue ... Mine's still not running correctly. So far I've done:

New MAF, improved but not 100%

"Serviced" EGR, ie, good clean

Boost pipes off, cleaned FMIC, refitted

Turbo "clean" using off the shelf cleaning fluid

ECU reset, and put standard intake back

Still got very lumpy idle, and boost when flooring is just not like it used to be.

Who / how did you do the cam timing fine tune?

Will take her into unit18 next to see if they can help, heard good things about them.

I wish I knew what fixed it. I have not had the use of my driveway for the last two weeks so have not been able to clean the car, I hope its not something getting wet, I am kinda scared to wash it now lol.. Here is the guide to fine tuning the cam timing : http://www.myturbodi...st-Idle-TDI.htm

vagcom was essential for this though.
