  1. The puss/ blood mixture coming out reminds me of the ketchup and Swedish mustard combo on top of an Ikea hot dog
  2. Catching the reflection of the Arosa in a shop window- i'm staggered this car is seventeen years old.
  3. I'd say this will work a lot like dispersal powers under the Anti-Social Behaviour Act. Just because a group doesn't mean there is anti-social behaviour per se. Just because there's a group of car enthusiasts doesn't mean there is a 'cruise'. A common sense approach will most likely triumph- gathering will be fine, being a bellen won't.
  4. Like Fiat 500s, VW Beetles and those bizarre Vauxhall Adams it really does seem like the MINI is a pure marketing exercise above all else. In three generations its gotten to look ever so slightly different and whereas I can sit in the rear of an original Mini I couldn't squeeze in to the be back of a new one. I don't even like how they drive and the price of them is ludicrous. Don't get me started on the over-inflated ones that look like they should be flying above Battersea power station. That crappy estate was also utter bilge. Small hatchbacks? I like many- latest generation Fiesta is fine, VW Up/ SEAT Mii/ Skoda Citigo are acceptable and I'm not offended by the Renault Clio either. But these are cars built with a design brief and a function in mind. The MINI seems such an impractical waste to me, the Arosa has as much boot space and is packaged better. Mind you i'm forever drawn back to simpler times and the likes of a Mk2 Polo to my mind reflect better design. Smaller, more spacious, simpler and ultimately cheap. Something the Mini used to be but that the MINI definitely isn't.
  5. Strange how function eventually wins out over form. The BMW MINIs are an abomination and the raft of tat that was thrown out with the badge on is shameful. A neighbour has one of those stupid little coupes that looks like its wearing a syrup. Black with red bits. Looks as exclusive as dog dirt.
  6. I'm not sure if this has been noted by anyone else but there are parts of the US where fracking is grinding to a halt because there simply isn't the fresh water available for the wells. A resource already experiencing stress and millions of gallons are being taken away from being usable for life and turned into a toxic brew useful to nobody. One wonders what the aim of this government actually is- when the answers to the problems are obvious to everyone it seems more and more like our masters have an ulterior motivation.
  7. Driving the Polo through the beautiful, sunny Shropshire countryside on the way to Telford this morning, lack of power steering making the corners of the A518 feel like I was blatting around Spa Franchorchamps
  8. Just a quick question, did you test drive it? There are numerous faults in there that surely should have been obvious from the outset and obvious from testing the vehicle fully. Unless i'm buying a shopping cart that can be fixed for whatever is in my pocket I go through the car like a knife through butter. Depends on how you paid for the car, if you've bought on a credit card the companies can be powerful allies in getting what you want. Otherwise dig in because it'll be a long, hard fight.
  9. At least prices should come down now there's an alternative to the return ticket option.
  10. After an unexpected, last minute trip to the parent's this weekend a list of the following; 1) The utter bolluck in a 1 series who refused to move from lane three at 70 mph despite there being nothing in lane 2. Or 1. Why do some people have such an issue about letting others make progress? 2) The useless split in a Renault Scenic whose speed varied between 55 and 90 dependent upon anyone trying to pass her 3) The gutless bald feckwit in a Corolla who tailgated the poor old dear in her Yaris on the A3079 despite the numerous safe places to overtake her 4) The lane three conga at j6 of the M5 speed up, speed up, BRAKE! Speed up, speed up, BRAKE! 5) The arpse in the Corolla who kept speeding up to overtake then slowing down so the cruise control took me back passed. On the third re-overtake an arm came out of the window to gesture why I was overtaking. Divot. I'm starting to despise driving but at least they've finally finished the concrete central reservation between Rubery and Worcester and a very considerate X5 driver that moved to lane three to allow me to make an overtake. Crumbs of comfort in the world of the brain dead.
  11. Saw loads of manuevres like this in Belgium, holland and Germany last month, suicidal stuff. Unbelievable that wasn't a fatality
  12. I miss this little critter the most of any car i've sold on. Bought it for the eldest to learn to drive in, she couldn't cope without PAS. I got a good 10k out of it though, went to her boyfriend's little brother who did nowt with it and its still rotting in his garden :'(
  13. I don't mind these ads, makes the 'bay a bit more interesting. What is far more objectionable are people who ramp up the auction you're bidding on then constantly re-list when they price themselves out of the market, people who ask 'what's your best price?' or indeed people who tell you they only have half the asking price and can they do a deal.
  14. I wouldn't panic too much. As soon as TTIP and William Hague's seemingly paedophile protecting actions have gone away so, like SARS, will this.
  15. I always said no but then I was comparing it to a 170bhp diesel. But then we went camping in August and despite being loaded with kit and people that little engine was eager and though never fast, never struggled to keep up. One thing I would say, to spec even a Fabia Elegance to that of my Toledo SE will see you paying £2060 more... Depends on your requirements.
