  1. When I had the Yetis, I replaced the locking wheel bolts with normal ones. Found the locking wheel nut socket easily got damaged when used and then didnt work !! Wheel theft isnt such an issue these days ( is it ?).
  2. re Old cars - My first was a Ford Prefect with the E93A engine, seem to remember running on one wiper in hilly regions to make life easier for the vacuum system. You could always open the windscreen if really necessary. WIth poor electrics ( 6volt) , cable and rod brakes probably a good job the lateral 2 spring suspension really wasnt happy above 40 mph.
  3. +1 Initially found it challenging to find the marks, but after changing the winter tyres a couple of times didnt seem to have any problem finding them by FEEL once in the right area. Going OT , I found the locking wheel nut adapter very easily damaged and after a bad experience with my first Yeti replaced the locking wheel bolts with normal ones.
  4. Its easier to feel for the triangles once you are in right area. Once found a dab of light paint or marker is useful for when you need to use them by the roadside !!
  5. When I bought my Yeti wanted the SE L model but the L&K worked out cheaper for what I wanted, so your choice maybe down to what's available. Skoda were running a very good PCH deal in 2017 on L&K many of which will be on the market now.
  6. Hi Can anyone confirm that the letter at the end of the "VW" group carstick surfstick part number indicates which marque and or entertainment system it works with. I have a 000.051.409 F which is branded Skoda and was hoping to use it with a VW T-Cross Infomation system but CarNet doesnt connect I believe the VW marque version end with an "E" . I mistakenly though the letter just related to updates ie F more recent than E more recent than D etc.
  7. A common problem had it fixed under warranty on my 2011 Yeti
  8. On my 2011 1.6 Diesel Greenline the Stop/Start worked absolutely fine for the 5 years I had it, whatever the conditions. On my 1.4 L&K, worked fine 1st year then became reluctant to go into Stop/Start mode unless battery was really charged ( after a very long run) and outside temp above 12C ! Does seem very sensitive to battery condition. I think you could disable the Stop/Start from the MFD options, so it is possible one key is programmed with Stop/Start disabled.
  9. I terminated 1 month early and it was made clear that I had to contact BCA to arrange collection. Had to push VW Finance to get their accounts dept to manually mark my account as paid up etc. before BCA could arrange a date.
  10. You have to keep the car insured till collection ! But you dont have to pay any lease charges from termination to collection and you still have use of the vehicle. I didnt take collection of my new vehicle till day after collection to avoid insurance issues and parking issues.
  11. Amazing that's my old vehicle. What the advert doesnt say is that it has detachable towbar & spare wheel Near end of 2 year lease (Oct 2018) price to buy was £17400 which I considered too high. End of 3 year lease Dec 2019 price to buy £13900.
  12. I advertised my Steel wheels and winter tyres here but ended up selling them through advert in local supermarket - lots of Yetis around here.
  13. For info I posted that I could have purchased my 12kmileage L&K for £13900 in December, see it is now for sale in Skoda dealership in Lincoln for £16900 !
  14. I had to wait 3 weeks from ringing BCA up to get a date for "inspection and collection". Yes same day the driver spent about 30 mins inspecting the car doing the paperwork - or rather tablet work - and then driving off in it. Was surprised how low the "repair" quote for scratches etc was. Arrange early termination as soon as you are can , when you ring BCA up you can arrange suitable date for collection. I foolishly waited till I was certain car was at dealers before terminating which took a few days to process and then 3 weeks to wait for BCA .
  15. Well the Yeti has just gone ! Quite sad , have enjoyed my two Yetis and the advice and info on this very friendly and knowledgeable Forum. In case its of interest to others, the inspection damage report listed the following: Bumper front Scratched Right Corner Less than 10mm through top coat Touch in & flat/polish 21.00 Wing LHF 1st scratch per vehicle 10mm to 25mm through top coat Refinish 110.40 Door mirror assy LHF Scratched Greater than 25mm through top coat Refinish 27.60 I'm sure I couldnt have got these sorted out locally before collection for these prices. Just hope they dont revise it later ! Cheers everyone.
