Just to add, I added these a year or two ago, using the codes in that thread, and also luggage hooks, which replace the blanking plates higher up. The various parts were very cheap, and easy to fit, so well worth doing - Just a few pounds per side from memory, including the luggage hooks Parts diagram here https://skoda.7zap.com/en/cz/rapid/rap/2016-740/8/867-867085/#11

Yes it lacks DAB. I just hardwire a pure highway 200 into the aux input -

Should have added. VW OEM from other regions, it has Bluetooth/ Aux/ USB/ Android auto and Carplay, and is a straight swap. Radio lacks RDS so retuning necessary on long journeys which could be a pain, but that's about the only downside. It also shows the factory Parking sensors or you can wire in a rear view camera quite easily Get a noname genuine RCD330 and you can easily upgrade firmware to add the android auto, so not worth paying a premium for. -

Rcd330. Just read up about the options and make sure you get a genuine one -
changing kph display to mph (non maxi dot)
fatheralice replied to Imran123's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Below is for my 13 plate Fabia, not sure what the instrument cluster buttons look like on the Octavia, but the principal will be the same I'm sure 1) Change region to Australia with Carista (or vcds), 2) press left button on dash (squares) three times until the kph flashes, 3) press right button on dash (zeros) , which changes it to miles. When moving, this now gives speed in mph, and total mileage on the line below on the display, where the kph used to be. Speed can be selected by scrolling through options on rhs wiper stalk. To display kph again repeat steps 2 and 3, no need to change region again. -
Anyone know the difference between these 2 parts, as listed on Partsbase.org? http://www.partsbase.org/skoda/octavia-oct-sv-2012-85720-dashboard-fittings/#p-sko-1z0858069bh2au I am after a silver fascia to replace the current bolero one, which I have updated to an RCD510 DAB radio in my Octavia SE Connect. I believe the trim is "finely tuned Aluminium", but was unsure what the PR-5MD+....bit at the end of the description related to?
