It's still happening across ALL VAG vehicles, the dealers know about it but the manufacturer couldn't care less. I've been driving Superb's for 13 years and loved every one, been great cars. My last Mk3 had the same system fitted and it worked really well, just a very occasional alert on adaptive cruise as I passed a car that had already turned left and it could be prevented by pressing the accelerator so I kind of got used to it My Mk4, which I've had for almost 12 months is a frightmare, WAY too sensitive in all manner of cases and goes into full collision mode ... Dash warning, alert sound, slams on the brakes and tensions the seat belts. On two occasions, I've had road rage incidents from the guy behind thinking I'd brake checked them as they nearly ran into me. The system is 100% dangerous and I've now got into the habit of turning it off, together with the lane assist, every time I get in the vehicle, an absurd thing to have to do as, when it works properly, as it used to, it's a massive benefit. I have an outstanding complaint filed with Skoda and VWFS (it's leased) but to say they couldn't care less would be an understatement and, if don't hear back from them in the next few months, I'll be taking it to the Financial Ombudsman to get off the lease without an exit fee and I'll buy something else. Really sad as, in every other way, the car is wonderful and I wanted to love it as much as the others but it really is dangerous. I can't believe that so many people are facing this issue (there's a class action lawsuit running in the US against VW for it) and the manufacturer aren't issuing a fix, it's only software and the sensitivity will be adjustable ... They just don't care! They may start to care as more lawsuits spring up however!

It’s often not through choice Andy, circumstances change and folk get a requirement to tow after they’ve bought the vehicle, none of us are clairvoyant 😊 … That’s why there’s an aftermarket option with factory fitted wiring prep. Skoda simply need to get their act together and make it all work like it’s supposed to.

My 2 year old (circa 12k mile) Skoda Superb is with the dealer this morning (Murray Skoda in Plymouth) for its annual service (£260 with brake fluid change) and I asked for the wheels to be rotated front to rear as I always do to even out the wear. Just had the call from the dealer to take payment and was told that there is a £72 charge for this!!!! This is absolutely disgraceful, I’m 60 years of age and this is the first time I’ve ever been charged at all for this in 43 years of services with several manufacturers but to be charged such a ludicrous sum for what is no more than 5 minutes work is simply outrageous. even if it’s 15 minutes for a laggard, this is an hourly rate of £288!!!! Skoda should not be treating loyal customers in this way. I’ll now pop down to my local tyre fitters who will do it for a tenner. Didn’t realise main dealerships were ripping folk off in this way so thought I’d share to alert others.
