  1. The software update is available, mine was done yesterday. It’s annoying as ŠKODA will not contact owners to tell them. Book yours in for a while you wait appointment and the update will be done along with a complimentary health check
  2. Back from Richmond Skoda, airbag error message was indeed a software issue and a recall has been issued. All resolved. Methinks that a known defect that relates to an important safety issue Skoda would contact owners of cars likely to be affected rather than wait for warnings to appear on the instrument display and have drivers worrying about whether their cars were safe to drive or not. Had I known I would have taken the car over on my own, not dragged She Who Must Be Obeyed along in our other car in case the car was declared unsafe to drive!
  3. I had the airbag error on my Scala appear last Thursday (3rd October) and taking my car into Richmond Skoda on Monday for what they call a “triage appointment”. Hopefully they will come up with the same diagnosis that it’s a software issue and not an issue that makes the car unsafe to drive!!
