  1. Used it to form the top of the E in "YETI", on a hill overlooking the Motor Heritage Centre at Gaydon...
  2. Funnily enough, on the way into the Heritage Motor Centre this morning there was a Mk3 Vauxhall Astra directly ahead of me. It stopped when it reached the steward, and the driver was having a seemingly-interminable conversation with him determining whether to carry straight on towards the show-parking area or turn left into the visitors' car park. Eventually, it pulled off to the left, and I moved forward to speak to the steward. The first thing he said to me was "I wish the Skoda and Vauxhall badges didn't look so bloomin' similar!"
  3. Although it seems one has been spotted in the Morse spin-off, Lewis... More here, but no starring roles.
  4. I'll be there. Will aim to join any convoy I can find heading up the A40/M40...
  5. Interesting thread, especially as I found myself on the horns of a "Yeti or Evoque" dilemma in January, before I was a member here. Back then, I elicited the advice of the Mercedes-Benz Club forum, and by post #71 (!) I'd placed my order for the Yeti. Here's the thread for those that are interested in seeing how MB owners viewed the comparison: http://www.mbclub.co.uk/forums/general-discussion/145117-any-evoque-owners.html
  6. I've only ever used my retro-fitted MDI with an iPod Touch 5th Generation, connecting it via a standard Apple 30-pin > Lightning adapter. Everything seems to work just fine, including track information and the steering wheel controls.
  7. My old Fabia rarely moved, with the only mileage between services often being the trips to and from the dealership; at least on the occasions when it wasn't trailered there and back. I somehow managed to put around 5000 miles on it in the five years I owned it, but 1300 of those were accumulated in the last few months I had it, after I started to feel guilty about the lack of use. The Yeti will probably rack up around 6000 miles a year.
  8. A red one followed me out of Stoke Park a couple of weeks ago, but I was in my other car so didn't get a wave, flash or any other form of recognition. :(
  9. I think that's pretty much the case. While 13-reg cars may be thin on the ground in Scotland (on United 11's evidence), there's no shortage of them in and around London. Without having conducted any kind of scientific research, I seem to have seen more 13s so far than I recall having seen 11s, 61s, 12s or 62s following their respective introductions over the past two years.
  10. Saw three on Sunday - a silver one on the roundabout joining the West Cross Route from the Westway; a white one parked in Kensington; and later that day another one (can't recall the colour) in Epsom.
  11. I've just bought two new cars, both registered with private plates. In both cases, the registrations were showing up correctly on the DVLA database on the day I collected the cars, which was also shown as the date of first registration (3rd and 10th May respectively). That's all that matters for insurance purposes - whatever car the numbers were on previously becomes irrelevant once they've been assigned to the new one (even if the physical plates still happen to be attached to the old car).
  12. Perhaps (although it was posted in response to one of yours... )...

    MY14

That explains it, then - they've run out!
  14. Furthest mine's been so far was a running-in trip down the A40 to Cheltenham, and back via the Cotswolds. Might take it down to the south coast later this week.
  15. That was the idea! Picked up my other car on Friday and headed up to Scotland on Saturday afternoon, coming back via the Lake District last night. Put around 850 miles on it over the weekend, so it's virtually run in now. The Yeti still only has 650-odd on it, so that will be getting some further outings later this week. (Can't have it getting jealous, now, can I... )
  16. Saw two Yetis (separately) heading north on the A7 (north of Carlisle) yesterday evening, though I wasn't in mine at the time. One was an orangey/red colour, the other was Muscovado, Was also passed by a black 62-reg Yeti in Beaconsfield this afternoon (again, I wasn't in mine).

    MY14

On a serious note, I too would be interested in knowing the definitive list of differences between MY13 and MY14.

You lucky girl. I missed out on a DAB-equipped Columbus by a whisker. Swap ya?
  19. When I decided to change my 56-reg Fabia HTP Ambiente earlier this year, I was initially looking at a mkII Fabia SE, tempted by the "25% off" (before discount) special offer. But I've never been particularly keen on the mkII's shape and was also put off by the take-it-or-leave-it approach to specifying the cars covered by the offer. So I ended up buying a Yeti instead.

    Bling rings

As mentioned elsewhere, I bought a set of SuperSkoda bling rings for the Yeti, but I'm in two minds as to whether or not to fit them. What does the panel think? As it arrived: With the rings:
  21. Spotted an ambulance-spec Yeti today, so had to grab a photo of it with my hearse:
