an auto locksmith can decode a door lock & make a key to it Take a look at my sig below
-
yes you can fit an aftermarket kit. They're cheap enough to buy & wire into the original central locking loom. Not as good as a genuine VAG CCM & remote key though. CCM's aren;t even that expensive 2nd hand. Sometimes get them for £10-20 but usually pay about £30-40. Then i make them a remote key

here to answer questions if anyone needs any help advice

if it just has 2 non remote keys then chances are it doesn't have factory remote locking. You can add factory remote locking & get flip remotes made but the CCM would have to be changed for 1 with built in remote locking. This is very straightforward to do & i've done it for customers with various VAG

yes you do need a security code, which vcds won't read. You need other equipment for that
-
it will just pop slightly, they don't open fully unless you fit parts from a VAG that has that from factory. The Bora guys have been doing the full pop open mod for a while

have a look at these http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/297901-new-remotekey-group-buy/

i usually do a couple of insurance "lost key" jobs most months. Usually the car owner contacts me, i go do the job, they pay me, i give them an invoice then they claim it back from insurance company

For future reference it's actionman39

you need to get it tested to see if it's actually sending a signal. Unfortunately you're a bit far away for me to help at all. If you just can't get it to work you will have to consider getting someone that does it for a living to look at it

body control module cost
actionman39 replied to terryrebel's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
modules aren't expensive if bought second hand from a breakers or Ebay. You just have to but matching part number to your original. They're easy to fit & will probably only need some minor coding to match your car -
if the engine etc is the same & all the part numbers for ECU etc match then yes you can use the ECU, clocks, ignition barrel, key & also the door locks. Then once fitted it will start up

just because the LED lights up it doesn't mean that the remoite is sending a signal. All it means is that the LED is getting power from the battery. If you've tried with VCDS then either the fob is faulty or it's the wrong 1 for the car. There's several remotes that look identical but have different internal electronics. In a lot of cases when i test remotes that won't work with a car they still send the correct mhz signal. The problem is that the data that the fob sends within that signal has become corrupt so the CCM doesn't recognise it Can you read the part number from each of the remote cases?

A 2000 Octy uses a 2 button 1j0959753n remote fob. The corresponding comfort module part number is 1j0959799ah. Not 100% sure on the comfort module location on a 2000 reg but I know on other similar year VAG it's behind the right hand side of the dash next to fusebox. I have a photo of location on my laptop so will post it later. You basically remove the lower dash trim. Then look up into the dash. 2 screws hold the module in place. So just remove them as well as the multiplugs then remove module. That part number module is used in various early VAG such as mk4 Golf & mk1 Leon. So you may have to alter some coding with VAGCOM. The car the module came from may have been 2 door so coding needs altering as yours will be classed as 4 door. Then all you do is get a remote & have it cut & coded. Job done

it would be a lot easier to buy & fit a 2nd hand comfort module off Ebay that supports remote locking. Then you can also use OEM remotes. Or even the Bentley style that i sell on the forum
