  1. I went down this rabbit hole a while ago, and ended up buying 5 or 6 different ones off of Amazon and AliExpress and testing each one for a couple of weeks. Loads of them are super janky, with connection issues nearly every use. Some advertise features that they don't actually support. I used a Carlinkit 5.0 for quite a while, and while it was mostly fine I found that responsiveness was slow and sometimes it didn't connect/start up properly. If you order a Carlinkit, order from a well reviewed store on AliExpress as it's much cheaper than off Amazon or their website. I tested: Carlinkit 5.0 2air Carlinkit 5.0 SE Pro Carlinkit Mini Ultra The 5.0 was fine? It worked, but had connection issues occasionally. The Mini SE was essentially exactly the same performance. I'd avoid the Mini Ultra. It regularly disconnected, and was just unreliable overall. They do all have GPS passthrough though, which is a plus. Again, if you want to buy a Carlinkit buy from AliExpress as they're considerably cheaper (eg Carlinkit 5.0 2air on Amazon is £42, on AliExpress is £22). Just make sure you check the reviews of the seller before buying. I settled on this one from a company called Sunweyer - https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0CTCX67F7 - it isn't amazingly well reviewed on Amazon but it's consistently connected every time I've gotten into the car and seems responsive overall. A small positive is that it's a bit smaller, so you don't have a cable hanging either. It's also the best one I've used overall. I also tried: MSXTTLY MMB Wireless Adapter ByteWave Wireless CarPlay Personally I'd avoid these three, they don't have GPS passthrough which is a key feature I wanted. This means it uses the cars GPS instead of the phone, which saves on battery over longer journeys and means it's usually aligned with the direction of travel from the beginning.

  3. Does anyone know the part number for the gear level surround with the wood effect? Can’t seem to find it anywhere
  4. Also fitted the updated washer fluid filler
  5. Picked up my 2019 SEL at the weekend and I love it, but there’s a few bits I’d like to do to bring it up to date. First on the list, LED interior lights! Pictures showing before and after! Front seats Rear seats Boot with LED upgrades off of AliExpress
  6. I picked up my new (to me) Octavia at the weekend and so far it’s been great! I noticed in the boot it has a few empty straps and I’ve finally figured out what’s missing! The warning triangle and first aid kit didn’t come with the vehicle, but it’s something I’d like to add back. I noticed that the first aid kit retaining clips are missing, and instead it’s just the pieces of fabric rope and no plastic clips to secure it in place. Does anyone know the part number for the clips? And does anyone know the part numbers for the triangle? Picture for reference
  7. Mine's from Feb 2017, just hit 34k so not quite 100,000 yet!
  8. I’ll take a look at HID, and see what I can find! if I went down halogen route, are there any you’d recommend apart from the Philips mentioned above?
  9. Is there any update for this head unit?
  10. I have the projector style headlamps on my Fabia, and I'm looking for new bulbs to replace two factory and two Osram Night Breaker Lasers (failed after 14 months on drivers side). I know LED lamps don't pass MOTs anymore, but wondered if the inspector would be able to tell it's an LED lamp since it'd be inside the projector? Are there any halogen bulbs better than the Night breakers? I prefer a whiter light but I know they typically aren't as bright. I live in an area where there's 0 street lamps so I'm looking for the brightest bulbs I can get away with! Any advise would be great 👌
  11. This is great! Wanted to let you know that second link listing the kit is sadly a scam, so it may be worth editing to remove it! I ordered from there and it's been nothing but hassle, and the reviews online confirm it 😞
  12. My first post in the Fabia forum since moving from a Citigo! I have 2017 Fabia which I've owned since new, but over the last year or so I've noticed that brightness and contrast on the screen start to get worse. I've had the issue for a couple of years now with the screen being unresponsive in the cold, but I'm wondering whether the two are linked given that it's been mentioned that the unresponsive screen could be linked to condensation. My question is, if I purchase a new screen will I need a code or will it just be plug and play as I'm not changing the head unit. Alternatively, has anyone fitted an aftermarket unit into the car and how did that go?
  13. @horkin not sure where you’re based but saw this Fabia up the other day! It’s only on 11k and it’s a 1.2 TSI DSG hatch! Maybe worth looking at if you get a chance - https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/202002147322432 Theres seems to be a few sub 9k on there that meet what you’re looking for!
  14. Could you be able to PM me instructions? 😀 the car is out of warranty so no massive concerns there!
  15. Do you know if there’s a way to update to this? What software version this is?
  16. What’s the difference between the old and new interface?
  17. Alright everyone? Uni has failed from me posting on here but I have a question for all you about MPG. So I was flicking through my average MPG and it was on 32.6mpg average after an hour of 70mph cruising. Surely this isn't normal? The car only had me and no luggage and I wasn't revving hard at all, yet the highest I achieved was 34mpg and at times it was as low as 22.3mpg. Any thoughts? Thanks, Cam
