  1. I've also bought the mud flaps for my new Mk4 VRS, but haven't fitted them yet. However, I certainly won't be doing any drilling. My previous car was a Mk3 VRS for which the mud flap instructions also specified drilling. Instead of drilling I used some thin number plate sticky foam strips and these worked perfectly - my son has this car now and after 9 years the mud flaps are still firmly stuck.
  2. My first post on this thread: my car was also built during the week beginning 26/09/22 (week 39), but is also "stuck" awaiting component(s). I ordered a VRS 2.0tsi manual with DCC on 22/2/2022.
  3. The pricing & spec brochure tells me that the transmission is a 7 speed sequential automatic. But, unless I'm missing something, I don't see anything about dry clutch vs wet clutch or any mention of DQ200/DQ380.
  4. This is really useful to know - thank you! Please can you tell us where you find the information?
  5. The Karoq mud flaps seem to be fitted in the same way as other cars in the Skoda range. I didn't like the idea of drilling holes in my new car either (Octavia VRS), and from my experience there is no need to do so. I just attached the inner part of the mudflap to the wheel arch liner using a strip of automotive grade double sided foam tape - the sort of stuff that's used to attach number plates. This might sound a bit whacky, but after 4 years my mud flaps are still firmly attached. I did the same for my wife's Rapid Spaceback and 14 months later that is fine also.
  6. I agree! I finally got round to ordering and fitting the under-bonnet insulation pad, and I think it makes a noticeable difference in subduing engine sounds on our 1.2 tsi (110ps), particularly at low revs. I could even convince myself that front tyre rumble is more muffled. At £23.24 from my local dealer, I would say that this part gives a worthwhile improvement to overall refinement. I think it took nearly 30 seconds to fit it!
  7. I think there must have been some change in the gearbox (as well as the 1.2 engine) over the years. We have had our Spaceback SE Tech 1.2 TSI, 110ps (MY2017) since January, and I would rate the 6 speed gearbox as excellent. I find the gear change is very light and smooth - the best I've ever had, in fact. The Spaceback gear change is certainly better than the 6 speed manual in my Octavia VRS.
  8. Could you confirm the part number(s) please?
  9. Thanks for that info, Chris. I guess your 2014 1.2 TSI is the 105ps engine, but that shouldn't make any difference to the usefulness of under-bonnet sound insulation. I think I'll be buying the part - it looks like a low cost, worthwhile improvement. My Octavia Mk3 VRS 2.0 TSI doesn't have under-bonnet sound proofing either, so I might be buying two parts!
  10. Our MY2017 Rapid Spaceback SE Tech 1.2 tsi 110ps has no under-bonnet sound insulation. It's probably not necessary because I think this engine is quite smooth and reasonably quiet. Even so, I was wondering about fitting the insulating pad for further improvement. It's available from Superskoda at http://www.superskoda.com/Skoda/RAPID/Rapid-original-Skoda-Autoas-hood-silenting-panel Does anyone have any experience of fitting this under-bonnet sound insulation with the 1.2tsi? Is there any reason not to fit it (e.g. engine cooling)?
  11. We picked up our Spaceback SE Tech 110 in January this year. We didn't specify the sports seats (which I think are all black), but just accepted the standard seats which have a black centre area with two-tone grey sides. I think this upholstery pattern was introduced for MY2017 and was exactly as we saw on a showroom model at the time we placed our order. It seems to be shown clearly on the online configurator, but not in the brochure. Personally, I like the new upholstery and think it's a big improvement in terms of interior appearance.
  12. We picked up our Spaceback 1.2 110ps SE Tech a few days ago. (Photos here .) Hope you like it as much as we do - I think this is a very under-rated car! The 1.2 110ps engine is a sweet unit and the gearing is quite high. 60mph in 6th gear is at only 2000rpm, so legal motorway speeds are no problem even from day 1. (And this is from someone who, for the last 40 years, has always been very cautious about the running in period for a new engine.) Obviously don't over-rev it, but you won't need to. As LeeMc says, the more important requirement is not to labour the engine. If in doubt, change to a lower gear.
  13. Picked up our brand new Rapid Spaceback SE Tech 110ps today. Initial impressions are very good - the engine is pretty smooth and feels like it will go well when run in; comfort seems very good too; it is well equipped and interior space is excellent.
