  1. So I don't think I ever closed the topic off as such, Skoda UK confirmed that this was a promotional thing (NONSENSE!!!) and said it wasn't included in the spec at the time of purchase or build (also NONESENSE!!!) but they sent me a cheque - yes and actual cheque - for the value of the brolly as it appeared in the dealer accessories price list which I think was £27 or something like that. I just wanted my brolly Good or bad, it should have been in the car and wasn't. Annoyingly, I traded my old Octavia in, complete with brolly - should have kept that one.
  2. Also had the letter today - ridiculous as they had my car only 3 weeks ago or whatever and that recall was already out there. That said, I do recall them saying they checked the heat mat or something and it was fine and at the time I had no idea what they were on about - probably that same thing. Worries me to be honest, I'd rather replace than check anything - but that's not when I'm paying for it
  3. Cheers all gotta admit I did some googling whilst having a toilet break and found similar confirmation that he's a plonker. TBH though any facelift with extra power is wounding, bigger screen and even fake leather seats is also a tough one to pretend not to care about. Hopefully it tips it over 40k cus I don't care what car I buy I won't pay a stupid surcharge to tax it. False economy for sure but still who makes these ridiculous rules and doesn't up the limit in line with car price increases.
  4. I’m confused. After the unveiling of the facelift, I received some unwanted banter from a mate of mine who loves to poke the bear. He’s giving it the usual looks way better than yours and more powerful etc. the swine is right!!! but, he said one thing which now puzzles me - he said why didn’t you go for the 4x4 vRS. Is that only diesels or can a petrol cars estate be a 4x4? If it’s just diesel I guess it’s the weight of the lump on an engine, but my petrol could do with 4x4 tbh and if it’s a thing, maybe getting on the list for the facelift as a 4x4 is some sort of crazy decision waiting to happen? Thanks in advance for the clarification guys. Uk by the way I should add, no doubt they sell other drivetrains in other markets.
  5. Car is 1yr old next week, I had no idea it didn't have a cover rather comically, they told me this weekend when it went for the service that there were a couple of recalls. They said the cover is not in stock and is on order.
  6. Sorry I have not read the last few pages of updates - just wanted to ask, any other people now got no reboots, but still getting parking sensor warnings and random collision detect warnings? I even get the odd random collision detect beep and red logo when there's nothing in the road and it doesn't attempt to slow the car either - thankfully. Basically, my infotainment is spot on now, but I still have the odd glitch with sensors clearly. I should point out the car gets less and less use lately, it is frequent enough for it to feel like most journeys too. It doesn't stay on as a warning either so seems to clear itself. Just had it's first service, they checked the diagnostics they said and saw nothing and the sensors all passed their test.
  7. Think it's fair to say they come as std. and mine is missing. Skoda customer services sorting me out I think, watch this space. Yes, just a token brolly. But not being funny, it's a brand new car not one from a car supermarket where the valeter has had it away! Not a generalisation but I knew a valeter at a large car supermarket who had an addiction that involved taking the first aid kits and mini torches out of BMW's. He amassed quite a collection
  8. So, does anybody else NOT have an umbrella? My VRS does not. Neither door. Quite annoying given I didn't know where it was on this model and then googled it, whilst in a torrential storm, only to find it's an empty hole on both doors 😞 It comes with one, right? Says so on all spec's for all Octavia. Is it the supplying dealer then that should equip the door with a brolly?
  9. Sorry to ask a question that's answered potentially - but in the UK, has any single person had any success via a dealer in fixing this? I've had this topic pinned since the first month I had the car (March 23) and the poor car has done less than 1500 miles in the last 6 months, but I reckon at least 500 of those miles were spent swearing at it. This week once again my car is restarting as usual. So so many OTA updates in this whole 6 months, never a single one calming this problem down any. In my situation though, the nearest dealer is half an hours drive away on a good run, and I can't get a FOC courtesy car either. I don't want to leave it unreported and undocumented forever, but at the same time, I don't want a dealer fettling the car to get me nowhere, whilst I'm massively inconvenienced in the process having to find a spare car to kick about in. Skoda UK said they cannot help they want me to report into my local dealer, but I don't think to date any dealer has addressed the issue for anybody conclusively? Or did I miss a reply somewhere...
  10. I work in IT, and there is no way at all that if this was a problem with a fleet of kit I look after, I wouldn't be all over this. I am really concerned that dealers don't seem to know about the issue, surely many of them drive fleet cars with the same shoddy issues. I am so concerned that chip shortages and delays mean corners were cut, but I so hope it's just software glitches. But I feel like they would be sorted much quicker 😞 I have had at least 4 update notifications since picking up the car in Feb, none of them have helped. Mine incidentally also normally 'pops' the speaker subtlety, but almost always also shows the PDC warning on the virtual dash too before rebooting. I really don't want to go to the dealer so I hope this is SW and they get some proper developers in to fix this ASAP. My car has done less than 1000 miles to put some context to this, and I'd say 1 in 3 journeys I have at least one of these reboots.
  11. So mine is back to restarting too so another one to prove the radio station logo workaround isn’t an actual workaround 🤦🏻‍♂️ mine rebooted twice the other day inside of 5 minutes of driving off. It’s bloody garbage really.
  12. I've had 6 drives and counting since doing the radio station logo thing, no reboots. Am I confident that this fixed it? God no, but I am happy to be proved wrong
  13. Thanks all, the web portal worked fine during the time so I should really have tried that before posting Can anyone confirm if this is free for ever, or is it only for the first year? I don't really want to pay for something I use only when paranoid in bed wondering if I locked the car!
  14. Is it me or did the latest update (iOS) of the MySkoda app break it? I can see the car and can get the outside temp for example but I no longer see the doors and lights section. Assuming it’s a simple one, is this feature free for ever or something you need to renew? I mean my dads 2021 Kia has this kind of tech as standard with nothing to pay to keep it going. My car is probably 90 days old so I wonder if it simply isn’t free and a trial expired or something? Thanks in advance.
  15. It's easy if a little hidden away. Did on mine friday, touch wood, no restarts since. My Skoda app now not telling me if the car is locked or not though, completely unrelated I hope. Will check later if you are struggling on where on the menus it was, but it's in either general settings or radio settings, and it's a menu called station logos or something
