14k on my vRS Mk3 and happy with it so far.
However will need to change front tyres soon and wondering what people are going with.
Came with Continental sport contact 2 225/40/18 on anthracite geminis.
I'm generally a motorway driver - not particually wild on the tyres.
Can get the same tyres again for around £95 a corner. I guess I need to change all 4 if considering a change of tyre manufactuers etc?
Any thoughts?

looks excellent - enjoy

What's the 'new car package' I've heard mentioned? Is it a Skoda option that you pay for or a 'goodwill' gesture by the dealer? (I've driven a bit of a bargain with mine and they no longer want to throw in a bootliner for 'goodwill').
i believe my dealer called it "winter pack", included mudflaps, rubber mats in the car and rubber boot liner. They gave me the carpet mats as spares as well. Was thrown in by the dealers.

3.5k done, averaging 50mpg - diesel vRS estate manual with roof bars
-
same for me 3.5k and 3 months in - still love it.
vRS diesel manual - 50mpg, that's with roof rails and cycle carriers on all the time.
Lovely place to be, comfy seats, no issues, DAB radio is superb.

I like it, barely even notice it now.
agreed - for now I like it. find it good. Novelty might wear off after a few k's mind you.

need to get rid of an 8 year old E60 beemer as it was heading for a large bill soon!
Wanted to get something with plenty of space, still a bit of poke but economical as well.
Had at look around but nothing floated by boat in April/May time and decided to wait it out till new vRS was out.
Test drove it and that was all that was needed.

works with my 4 year old blackberry fine - all photo's of contacts etc appear on the bolero screen.

Then you must either
a) Be a really good driver
Be good at planning and sticking to A roads
c) Be driving really slow at winter to the point where its annoying your fellow motorists ...
fair point I guess. Mainly A roads/motorways/ town centres etc. Each to their own but i've never felt the need for winter tyres.

I don't get this whole winter/summer tyre thing!
I've driven for 20 years and 20k a year mileage and never bothered with changing tyres for the various season. Just drive the car - simples!

I flaps fitted on my vRS estate from new. It was part of the dealers "new car" package.

cruise is a must - this should be standard and it's just stupid that it's an extra that needs ordered.

Is it possible to use a portable HDD drive with the USB port? You can then use that instead of a SD card.
no reason why not, but surely at £8 for a 16gb SD card that doesn't show once you insert it makes much more sense than having a portable USB hard drive plugged in. Bear in mind the USB is unlikley to power a portable USB hard drive so you may need to plug the hard drive into the 12V connection as well.
Just get a SD card for simplicity!
I dragged and dropped my music last night - 15gb onto SD card - all good this morning in the car including album art for most albums as well.

I got my wk 41 build on friday. All good so far

Got mine on Friday (wk 41 build) - just mode button. Can't see me bothering to change it mind you. Normal mode seems fine.

Nice car - enjoy.
Hated the experience with AC I had when checking out a few dealer to purchase from - awfully pushy, wanted me to commit to the figures before test driving the car, didn't like at all.
-
Very nice looking car as I know already, mine came last week same white with black pack, red leather interior and columbus
I like the look of those mudflaps as like others I didnt think they were available
Were they normal mk3 octavia ones and did they require a heating cutting to fit at the back as you mentioned earlier in the post?
mudflaps were offered by the dealer as part of "their" pro pack (not a skoda thing, a dealer thing) - got mudflaps, rubber mats (as well as the proper skoda carpet maps) and rubber boot liner for £150. No idea how they were fitted or otherwise, just that they are fitted!

Mud flaps fitted fine by dealer as well
What tyres for my vRS - due to change fronts soon.
