  1. It's a 62 plate vrs, it's done 11k miles. I've had a new seat base and 3 wheels on warranty, no other work done. It's started abut more oil lately but I've not got the figures to hand. I put 750mls in it recently after only just topping it up 600 miles previously.
  2. Service manager, I'm waiting on an email back so I've got it in black and white before I start an argument. 0.5 L per 621 miles is ridiculously high 1L per 621 miles is laughable!
  3. I broached the subject of oil consumption too. The dealer has told me it can use 1L per 621 miles which is total crap. If that's the case I could be putting 32 L in it between services!
  4. They've pretty much done what you've said for the major service. £239 seemed rather expensive though
  5. Evening all, what would you expect to be done at the first service (car is on variable intervals) and how much should it cost? Thanks
  6. Mine was squeaking too, too it into the dealers and they replaced the seat base al
  7. Apologies, it does look the same. Your bar just looked flatter than mine Al
  8. Yours looks the other way round from shark riders and mine, if mine went on the same way as yours it would have fouled the exhaust. Al
  9. It doesnt matter what shape they are. It must be a slight hint to motorists that more and more cars have these new fangled inventions. I think DRLs are a great idea. I wonder what your insurance company will say if you have an accident and they're turned off? My car has them and they will remain on, as per the law. People should keep upto date with the Highway Code. al
  10. The new Clio has the worst positioned and brightest drls I've seen so far. I haven't passed one at night yet. al
  11. Afternoon folks I am going to order some new bulbs for my 62 plate vrs that has the dark headlight, I know these only have one bulb, is it a h4? I don't want to go stripping it in the rain to find out. I've also seen a few bulb threads and I was just wondering what bulbs others with these headlights are using? Thanks for your time al
  12. Has anyone ever changed the oil in their own car? I have, the oil filter was totally empty. Now if you look at the filter it's going to drain into the engine after time. I would then suggest that the jabo method fills the filter and you will get a better reading al
  13. As I said, it'll be less hassle in the long run. Bumper removal is pretty easy, just lay it shiney side up when it's off al
  14. Strip the head light out and rattle it out, seems a crap way of doing it but it'll be the easiest way al
  15. Tights tight and too tights ****ed is something I explain to everyone. Tighten them with the standard wheel brace and you won't over tighten them and you will get them off if you have puncture al
  16. It would if he stopped revving it at the diesel red line, which he obviously didn't al
  17. It really depends if its been damaged by a stone etc or wether its down to a manufacturing fault. If its damaged your really on your own cause you can't really prove it wasn't you. If it was me I'd go for the 50/50 option, it's hard to swallow but it's better than paying it all. Sorry I can't really be more help. al
  18. You were sitting in a queue at the lights so it wasn't too noisy. Yeah, bought westerns demo car, black one with polished wheels. John really knows his stuff and will do a custom setup which a lot of people can't
  19. Indeed sir! I saw you at the lithgae bridge light a few weeks ago, I always admire your car when I spot it. You wouldn't have noticed me in my low mileage (it's only done 150k miles in 2 years) discreet berlingo van. The wife takes the car to work so if its going slowly to or from polmont its usually not me lol. You on trackscotland much? Do you frequent pro grip? Johns a good lad. al
  20. Hi mate, Kwik fit may have the best machine available but if they don't know how to use it then it really doesn't matter how good it is. I'm not slagging them off as there may be one really good fella that really knows what he is doing, I seriously doubt that's the case but you never know! I took my standard suspension setup vrs to a guy local to me near Falkirk, his bread and butter is suspension geometry. He does a few other jobs when he is quiet but it's 95% suspension setups. As soon as you speak to him you realise he knows what he is on about. My car only needed a small tweak on the drivers side (which others might not have bothered about) but it's made the steering far better. He is also a skoda vrs owner which is nice. Find a place with a hunter tracker machine and google them to see what's on some forums, it really is worth the effort. Failing that skip on a boat and head for Falkirk, I will buy the first 2 rounds! al
