I have a 2008 Octy VRS estate and after having a look under the car pre-mot I noticed that a bolt holding the Support Frame engine carrier to the front subframe had snapped on each side. As they're ally parts, the bolts have snapped off inside the subframe and I'm not a fan of drilling them out it looks like I'll have to get new parts. TPS want £200+VAT for each support frame and £395+VAT for the subframe. I've found an after market left Support frame for £70 inc VAT but can't find a right handed version. Before I shell out for the TPS parts does anyone know where I can hold of the parts for less than TPS? Thanks in advance

Yes...totally forgot the full explanation as to why the light came on but related to the aux belts going.

Turns out my air con compressor had completely fallen to bits chucking its bearings and all sorted parts into the under tray giving the horrendous rattle. It trashed the aux belt too so although a little expensive not the worst case at all. All fixed and drives lovely again.

I hope its nothing serious too! Glad yours wasn't too bad and you got it sorted. I left mine with the garage and they'll get to it tomorrow so I'll get a call Saturday or Sunday with any news. Just sounded horrific...

Doing so this afternoon... however its now developed a really brutal rattle so its going to the garage.

Hello, I have a 2008 VRS CR170 diesel and the engine management light has just come on. Could a blowing exhaust cause this? I noticed that at lower revs (sub 1500rpm) there is a distinct noise that sounds like the exhaust is going and the noise disappears at 2000rpm.

Just FYI; I had the same unit, from the same seller, fitted to my mk2 last year and initially it worked well. Over the last 5 months (out of sellers warranty) voice controls have dropped to working about 10% of the time and although I can hear calls just fine the caller can barely hear me. Just wondered how you found calls and wether you're using an external mic with this unit?

Hello, I have a 2008 VRS estate and one of the front fog lamps has blown, how do you get to the bulb?? Is it a bumper off job? Can't seem to find a way to get to it. Any help gratefully received!

Thanks, really useful. I've not got the skills to do this at all but I'll be asking this onto to the chap who installed my RCD330+ and MFSW.

Had a fiddle with my iPhone settings and thankfully now works. Now want to do the mod similar to yours and move the USB port to inside the jumbo box as my OCD can't stand that cable poking out of the unit!

I might look into connecting up an additional mic, I had an Audi hire car with Car Play and Siri worked superbly so hopefully I can replicate that. Good luck with the reversing camera, do let me know if you get it sorted as this was a possible addition I want to make.

@Rjg - finally had one fitted to my Octavia and it’s great. However when using Apple Car Play Siri is terrible. It won’t detect voice commands so no texts and I have to pull up phone numbers via the touchscreen. It’s odd as the the mic works (I can talk on the phone) are there any options I’ve not activated within the unit set up?
