  1. I’ve been happily driving my Octy  vrs mk1 estate for the last 13 yrs / 125000 miles

Now looking to change to something newer and with a different ride ( higher off the ground as my bad back needs diff seat) ( & don’t  have the cash for a newer vrs)

Any suggestions as to what to drive after an Octy vrs that’s not going to be disappointing?Another model Octavia ?  Another Skoda - are the newer models as reliable as the older ones ?
    Which would be best ?

    All yr advice much appreciated

    thanks

  2. Can anyone advice me which Skoda model offers the most comfortable / supportive drivers seat?

I’ve been driving an Octavia Vrs Mk2 estate for many years but problem with my back means I’m having to look for a more supportive and comfortable ride.

Thanks in advance for any advice on this

  3. I know this often gets asked but

I need to change all 4 of my Octy Estate 03 plate VRS tyres (currently 16" Michelin Primacy 3's)  I'd appreciate any suggestions for all-season replacements.

I live in an area with lots of speed bumps/potholes, drive less than 8k a year ( some motorway most urban) have family aboard so drive safe

and need to know that those tyres are gonna grip when needed.

    Thanks in advance.

to be clearer the red battery light comes on for some time before the power goes. But it comes on intermittently with weak red light that gets brighter. Then several yellow warning lights come on then the power dies.

the cable from alternator to battery is only hot when the cars engine is running

2 garages have checked the alternator and tell me it’s working ok and that the battery is charging and holding charge

  5. I have an Octavia VRS Estate 2003 which has developed an intermittent electrical problem that I'm struggling to diagnose.

The car lost all power on the motorway just before Xmas, was towed to a  local garage who replaced the alternator and belt but then 2 days later the battery warning light comes on again, then the car loses power and stops.

I took it to another garage and they confirm that the alternator has been replaced and that it is working ok and also that the battery is in good condition holding a charge.

They are looking at the power cable that runs from alternator to battery as the possible cause of the fault as its getting hot when the engines running so perhaps not transferring the current properly.

Any advice on this much appreciated

  6. Thanks all

New badges now fitted - hard part was getting the old adhesive off - hope that the new badges glue is as strong .

    They look good.

Skoda dealers were hopeless, when I first asked them for the parts they said they couldn't supply as wouldn't fit

So went with your ebay suggestions.

    Cheers
