  1. Thanks for the replies, customer ordered first switch, I sent it back and told no stock available from Vw in the country or world :-( I have checked 3 other trade Vw suppliers and they put a request for old stock and been told there is no new no1 switchs left. Only no2. I aborted the mot in the end
  2. Morning all, just been on the phone for an hour trying to track down a new light switch (one with the bulb picture on) its NLA. They sent me the other light switch with the low beam picture instead. The pickup Has an mot in an hour and need to wire a workaround. Does anyone have the wiring diagram or know what the wires do to the switch please, any help is much appreciated. ????
  3. Here is what I done to retain a stdish towing eye without fear of smashin or having to remove the front end of the car to tow it... simply... get an Audi or similar extra long towing eye, graft it to the Skoda one as in the pic. Drill spot welds then angle tow socket until desired then weld in a packer - box section or gusset to suit. Was going to cap the whole affair after taking photos for u guys :-) hope this helps
  4. what are you doing about the towing eye flanders? im thinking cut the back support and angle it straight then weld a packer in to retain the standard screw in eye, , dont fancy having to strip the front end to get that pipe off in an emergency just to tow it :-)
  5. This is what had to be removed to fit the brackets :-) then extensive angle grinder and melted plastic fun
  6. Yes mate standard bumper, needed heavily butchering to fit,had to cut out the 2 mounts under the grill and cut away a large part of the strengthener behind the bumper, took several cuts and offering up. Also had to cut away some of the fog-light support all was fouling the pipes. Cross member and radiator surround also needed cutting to allow fitting. Can put some more pics up if needed
  7. Just completed 300 miles after installed last week, just need a re-map. Happy to answer questions and give tips on the install, was far from straight forward :-)
  8. Mine went bang last week in a large fashion, didn't sound half as bad as that clip either. Got A cr turbo's hybrid, suposed to be good for 200bhp they claim. mine is the asz so was stuck for choice with the manifold being on turbo. Got it all on and it keeps blowing pipes off that's before a remap :-( now gotta get hard pipes and fmic then finally remap.
  9. Was good to see and chat with some fellow Skoda fans.... all be it I turned up in my mk1 golf :-) will be coming to the next in the fabia. went back to work after a cracking burger and got locked in the compound, the electric gate packed up so I ended up finishing the fabia at 1 in the morning and sleeping in it. Turbo power back and now keeps blowing all the stupid boost pipes apart, might have to get on to dAdkside and get the fmic kit.... my bank is starting to feel the strain
  10. Im in Hants/surrey way Dark_H. will be going to the meet Tuesday to show my face at west-meon hut.... work permitting :-)
  11. I've seen 5 dmf's part company from the crankshaft or break apart, not to mention the starter motors and gearboxes that have gone due to worn dmf's... I just don't like them lol. I have fitted plenty of solid flywheels to customers cars/vans and not had any problems, but none on the 6 speed tdi's yet.think I will put a solid in for peace of mind tho
  12. I've not fitted a front mount yet dark as the turbo has skinted me for the Mo, its high on the to do list tho :-) what's your views on solid flywheels? As a rule I bin the dmf as I've seen to many come apart on stock motors let alone tuned, I know mine isn't great so gonna go for that before the ic
  13. Thanks mate i was told to trailer it and not drive until re-mapped, i guess there just covering there asses :-) ive taken the whole boost track and intercooler out as i found turbo impeller treasure in there lol. been doing mechanics for the last 15 years but only the last few years got into VAG and PD and totally fallen in love with the fabia
  14. The Cr turbos 200bhp hybrid arived today, have some pics if anyones interested, Im not fitting it till next week now and the closest most reputable chip tuners who specialize in VAG are "The Phirm" heard a couple of horror stories but on the whole they seem to know there stuff, they using revo maps apparently, if anyone has any better sugestions feel free to pipe up :-D the next closest place to me was rising sun performance, and from looking on driftworks there good at blowing up and keeping peoples cars for months. last pic is my std 130 turbo, totaly wrecked
  15. unfortunately mate that's because of the Muppet's driving round in beat out BMWs calling themselfs "surrey sliders " lmfao. watched one nearly wrap his car round a post trying to do 70 round a roundabout in alton the other day. bunch of dicks that give us lot a bad name as we all get tarred with the same brush if u got a classic-modified car. police are on overdrive all round petersfield-borden-alton trying to catch them, theres a time for drifting and it aint round your local town 24-7 :-)
