  1. Just last week did my 5th full service and the fuel/air and oil filter was changed as part of that. Did not resolve the issue though.
  2. Process i follow for starting the car is - Put key in ignition - turn to start position and wait for all the lights and needles to finish their show and return to normal (takes about 5 secs) - Crank once upto about 5 sec. Except for morning usually starts in one shot. the avearage temps here are about 30°C and the car starts with no issues. morning can range between 20 and 25 and thats when the problem worsens I do have VCDS but use it only to read error messages etc and once to program my new bluetooth unit. I dont have a clue how to use that to check for fuel pressure. But i am assuming this was done when i gave it to the BOSCH multi car service centre considering they kept the vehicle for a week. Since when the engine starts after multiple cranks, there is a lot of smoke from the exhaust, would my assumption be correct that for each crank fuel is entering the combustion chamber but not burning and finally when the engine does start all that fuel burns together which will not be consumed completely and hence comes out as white smoke. ??
  3. Nope not minus 23 just plain pleasent +23 degree Celsius. Thats what i dont understand technically there should not be a problem at a temp as normal as +23 degree (which is considered low here). So dont think engine heating is the issue.
  4. Hi Folks I am facing some weird issues on my car Skoda Superb TDI 2.0 elegance. Issue 1 Every morning i try to start the car it does not start in one crank. I have to crank it up a second time. In the winters or cold mornings (temp below 23 degree Celsius), i have to crank it multiple times. Each time the cranking motors starts but the engine does not catch/start. And when it finally does start there is a lot of smoke from the exhaust. So took the car to the SKODA workshop. They kept the car for a week and finally said that they would have to change all the components of the fuel line and it would cost about INR 400,000 (that almost GBP 4700). So then took the car to a Bosch multi car workshop for a second opinion. They also kept the car for a week and finally concluded that nothing was wrong with the car and since the error occurs only once in the morning there did not have enough time to diagnose it. Their suggestion was to live with it till it got worse and then they would be able to diagnose. And so i have been living with it for the past 8 months. No problem otherwise, but every morning i have to crank up multiple time to get the car started. Later on in the day no issues and the car starts in one start. Sometimes same issue repeated in the evening when i am coming back from office and the car is off for the entire day. For some reason cold weather aggravates the problem. But now its getting irritating and would like to get it fixed, but i have no intention to spend the kind of money Skoda workshop wants me to spend to fix this problem. Issue 2 When i unlock the car using my remote, my headlights come on and the AFS system does the headlight dance where it moves to the two sides and then comes back to the center. This also happens when you start the car. But twice now in the evening when i am returning from office, when i unlock using the remote the headlight does not come on and the AFS system does not do the dance. When i start the car after that, the headlights come on, but the AFS system is not functional and within a few minutes the AFS not functional error comes on the screen. Now if i switch off the car and restart it everything is back to normal and the AFS behaves the way it is supposed to and the error goes away. What could be causing this, is some component failing? how can i check? The battery is about a year and half old and is fine when i checked it a battery shop.
  5. Hi Folks Does anyone know how to replace the Headlight Washer Jet Nozzle for the Skoda Superb II ? I mean this part Some questions : 1. Do i have to remove the headlight assembly to work on this ? 2. How do you pull this part out from the existing setup. Is there a notch or something or a particular way to turn it? 3. How do you work on this assembly, it take a lot of effort to pull this out and keep it pulled out while working on this? 4. If i do remove this (assuming i find out how), how do i fit the new part as i will have nothing to hold on to, to pull out the telescopic arm. Thanks folks
  6. Just to update this is CRDI engine. Also the Bosch service centre did not test the injectors on Bench. So i guess i will take it back to Bosch service centre and start with changing the fuel filter and lines. Actually they had suggested that but i did not agree to change the filter as the same was just changed as part of annual service just 2 months back.
  7. Thanks for the response. The bosch service centre was also mentioning the pressure issue, but he said he could not see any issue on VCDS and hence was not sure. His suggestion was to wait for the problem to become more accute so that they would be able diagnose the issue better. Not sure how to take this forward.
  8. Hi Folks Facing a weird problem. I have a skoda superb elegance 2.0 TDI. Every day morning when i leave for office i have to give a long start before the engine starts and when it does there a lot of bluish smoke that comes out of the emission for a few seconds. This also happens sometimes when the car is parked for a long time (>8 hours). I took it to the authorized service centre and kept the vehicle there for a week since this issue would only come in the morning. They finally said that the entire fuel line and all its parts needs to be changed. Total cost estimate - approximately 5500 GBP. I then took it to a Bosch service centre and they also kept it for a week. They also could not figure what was wrong. They checked the glow plug, Fuel filter, fuel pump etc. They said that most probably its an issue with the fuel pump which needs to be replaced, but they cannot be sure as they cannot diagnose the issue since it occurs only once in the morning and there are no error codes generated in VCDS. So now not sure what the issue is.. any ideas.
  9. Yes thats the bulb and socket thats causing the problem. I have changed the bulb once earlier when the error came, but the bulb was working fine. Worked for about 6 months and now again same problem. Also for the Superb i have its a totally different setup than the one shown above,. There are 5 bulbs/holder/wires in the harness. Like the one shown below The heat and blackening i had assumed is normal wear and tear. Vehicle has done 65K Kms and is over 5 yrs old.
  10. Hi Folks I looking to replace the wiring harness in my tail light as 2 of the bulb holders have blackened around the edges like they are getting hot and rear break light is not fitting tightly and keep disconnecting therby creating and error in the centre display regarding the light. Any idea where i can get this. I dont want to replace the entire taillight assembly.
  11. OK guys i need some help. I seem to have run into some trouble with my bluetooth phone/module. Not sure if this is a problem of the bluetooth module or the phone. When i connect the phone to the cars module it connects perfectly and i have no problem. However it does not connect to the Media player on the phone. Generally when the phone connects to the bluetooth module on the phone it shows the bluetooth symbol and the media player symbol. But now it shows only the bluetooth symbol no media player symbol. Even on the phone when i check it shows only Phone Audio option under bluetooth for this paired connection, for other paired connections on the phone it shows Phone Audio and Media Audio. The coding done on the blue tooth module is 020000010100000000000101. I also tried 020000010100100000000101 Any ideas
  12. Well guys finally this exercise is complete. I mananged to pull out the broken pin, reconnect the wire and push it back in. Bluetooth is up and working. Followed the coding given on other posts and VCDS also gives zero faults found. Thank you all folks for your support.
  13. Well i managed to remove the cable from the housing and the damage doesnt look as bad. Cleaned it up and the the same is shown in the image below. The only thing wrong looks like the snapped cable at pin 1. Now to figure a way to connect that back securely and hopefully we should be back in business .
  14. Wow.. thanks. Ok so assuming i do get the connector, if i were to cut the existing connector and atlease 1 inch of the cable, the cable harness would fall short and would not reach the module which would mean i would have to pull out the carpet, and sils to see if there is an extra loop or cabling hidden anywhere. The problem is i dont know how to remove the floor carpet and door sil.. to trace the cable. Any ideas or links ? Also how does one crimp cables into the connector ? Apologies if i am asking too basic questions. Thanks
