  1. Hi guys,

I'm having a intermittent steering issue, after starting and moving away the steering feels heavy and unresponsive and sticks in one position? very strange i have told the dealership about and they say they can not find any faults? so now I just give up. I feel like i should go to trading standards or somewhere! this car is a nice little car just what i needed but so many issues..............................

  2. My Advise for the ASG citigo is to sell it as soon as you can it's an awwwwwful system has many, many issues!! mine has been back 3 times now and still a pain, so i'm looking for another small auto (Fiat looking good at the mo) My dealership have offered me a Rapid, not free of cause, they will have mine back pay off the finance and give me new deal?? on a DSG Not sure what i'm going to do???

    Marcus.

    Happy new year guys :)

  3. hay guys thanx for the replys on the topic, but i must admit not quite what i was hoping for! :)  But it seems most of ya have the 60ps anyway, I have the 75ps ASG and it's fuel consumption is nothing like they say and it's nothing like the figures on the 'Honest jon' site too.

While my car has been away for new gearbox and ECU !! they loaned me a 60ps ASG ......Shocked is not the word! it's so economical and the power seems greater even though it has 15bhp less!! Mine is the 5 door and the loan car 3 door dose it makes that much difference does it?

Can I ask about the following, (Seriously though, the 75 brings more insurance / road fund, or it will when the banding shifts.)  This is the first I have heard about this when will this happen and how much will it mean cost wise?

    Thank you

    Marcus

  5. Hi, there are two local dealers and both are Robert eardley and son lol To be fare they have sorted me with a hire car now (3 door 60ps se) it's so much better than mine in every way! better fuel economy, engine more responsive, faster even the stereo sounds better than mine. In the short time i've had this ****yGo I am not impressed at all, I have asked the dealer to get out this car and into something else, maybe fabia or new rapid with the DSG. I wonder how much trouble that will be? lol :)

  6. Hi peeps,  My car  Elegance 5 door ASG 75 ps (what does ps stand for?)

My little Scotty (Skoda lol) gone back to dealers again with gearbox fault this time! he was with them few weeks back, they found some error codes but did not know how to fix it? they told me they needed a call from Skoda to talk them through the repair!!  So back in last week for two days! end of the second day I had to call them to ask for an update? Ah sorry they said your car is still on the ramps with the gearbox off and wont be ready today. But I need my car for work I explained, ho they said! Well we can let you have your car back tomorrow and then when the parts arrive we will need the car back but you will have to pay £500, for what I said? Well Skoda will only pay us once to remove the gearbox, so if you take it away then when we get the parts we will need to remove the gearbox a second time! (F~#=-=@_ ) was my reply lol

I called Skoda UK  (0845 774 5745)  to ask why I had to pay £500 on  3 month old car with full warranty? Leave it with us they said ! but as I told them I needed a car for work with business insurance, Ho they said! .........................two hours later a phone call........hello? Hi? we have a car for you it will be delivered to the retailer (Robert Eardley Newcastle under lyme) the next day..........A Black 3 door s or se ASG very nice............and you know what ? the steering works, the gearbox works, the economy is better than mine and the stereo is better than mine too lol  I think I got a Friday afternoon car!!!

    Thank you

    Marcus.

  7. Hi guys,

My ASG has 7k on it now but in the first week of ownership I noticed the 'false neutral'  issue and sent it in for a check, they found nothing ? Since then I have a problem with pulling away at junctions as in the car starts to move but then the drive is disengaged and go nowhere for a few seconds, also driving along the lost of power. So back in it went but this this time they found some error codes! but they told me they did not know how to fix it? They had to wait for Skoda! They gave me my car back telling me that they had to order in new gearbox, clutch and ecu unit !!  Since then spoken to them and now there telling me  that it my just be quirks of the asg gearbox? Well I'm not having that! I think it's time for me to get me money back or them buy it back and i'll have a Fabia DSG instead .

  9. You will get it new in box. on the instructions  is a code to download the maps and speed cameras. the maps you want Q13 which is the latest for UK You have to download the Navigon App/program first very easy then install it and update it. then plug in your PID (Move and Fun as Navigon call it) wait for the system to recognise your unit. after all the updates, maps you have chosen and cameras your then told to unplug the device on attach to the car then start the engine and wait while it configures it's self to the car. Then you can set up the bluetooth on your phone. done .

  10. Hi guys,

I have the 75ps 5 door Elegance ASG, That's why I bought it, I love auto's and the sport is not available with auto in the UK. My friend bought the sport and comparing the two there are a few little differences

with the sport there is no need for the PID as you get the travel/trip computer. The trim level of the sport is much better i.e seats look much better, 6 speakers (2 on mine)  talking of mine, you do get chrome finish door handles which do look better, heated front seats! and of cause the PID as standard on the Elegance. My PID experience has been difficult but once you learn the short cuts and what codes for stuff to download and update it gets easier. I do have two issues with it still 1) it only connects to my phone now and again! 2) the text feature will not work? been told both issues are due to me having a Samsung galaxy S3?

3 door or 5 door ? has to be 5 door every time, I find two door cars very antisocial lol sorry,

  11. Hi Guy's,

I have a Citigo Elegance 75ps ASG had it for 4 weeks now, I knew about the ASG as it's called by Skoda (Duel logic by Fiat,Senso drive by Citroen, also in pugs, ford,Vauxhall,Smart,Toyota, mazda etc. etc)

I've had the Fiat version, it was very good in fact better than this one in the citigo? sorry skoda. The only problem with the Fiat one was that every 45 to 60k the Hydrolic pump had to be changed at a cost of £1000.00 not cheap. I said I would never have another of these semi-auto things again, until i saw the Citigo (lol) Lovely car great value (mine was ex demo at £9400 for the Elegance which I thought was top of the range? being a person of a few years !! 55, top of the range came with everything!? Ho no not this car.... Only 2 speakers (the sport has 6?) no parking sensors (I know it's little car but you can't see the nose or back to well) Only one window switch each side?? all cars even budget ones get 2 window switches on the drivers side!! (come Skoda) Those strange pop out windows on the back! (very strange) why they could not put a vertical separation and given it a small wind down window is beyond me?

How about the height of the instrument clock with the steering wheel set where I am comfortable I can only see the 40 and the 80 mph (lol) I would like it lower but then I can only see the 20 and the 100 (pmsl)  The electric power steering sometimes is a little slow when you first start off? etc.etc.etc.etc.....................................................But lovely car :)

Anyway the gearbox, I have had that 'False neutral' thing twice(Not funny when it happens) I have found with this one it does not like change from driving on the flat to incline or decline or releasing your foot of the pedal and back on as you do in corners etc, So what i do is floor it until the revs start then release a little to normal revs, it seems to like this and cope much better.

The consumption! .........At first i was only getting 35 to 40, now I average 48, In my job a delivery driver with stop, start I think 48 is good, when I'm not working and the distance is little longer I get 60 mpg !!

I also have a nasty dead spot on the accelerator, but the dealers say they can't find anything wrong?

Would I buy another ...............maybe not .....next time if buying new I would have the Fiat, as the system is much smoother and feels like a normal torque converta auto. The new 500L or even the Qubo as its 6 speed auto :)

    Thanx for reading. Marcus
