  1. I have ownership of both but don't drive the citigo as a family member is insured on it. I needed something with a bit more comfort etc.
  2. In response to Mavver's query above the noise started once new clutch was fitted.
  3. I own a 64 plate and it needed a new clutch about two years with about 30k miles on the clock. The sounds that the original poster refers to only started following the clutch change. No problems with clutch or gearbox.
  4. should have read I too recently broke the ski hatch handle on a 17 estate wife's car. First time I tried to open it just to see what was on the other side, still don't know. I have not told my wife yet....what should i do??

  6. Hi, I did mention it at service time but nothing came out of it.; on reflection I was fobbed off.
  7. Hi all, I have had issues with the clutch on my 64 reg Citigo se 60 manual. I had it from new and the gearbox was clunky, difficulty engaging 1st, 3rd to 2nd and selecting reverse. Selecting reverse had become more difficult of late with lots of grinding of gears. I avoid reverse when I can. I have been advised by VAG mechanic that it needs a new clutch fitted. It has covered approx 33,000 miles to date. I am thinking about getting rid, possibly trade in for an Octavia on PCP rather than spend money on it. I have always found the car tiring to drive i.e. always having to keep it revved up and in the correct gear if approaching a hill etc. Any body else faced a similar scenario? any thoughts welcome.
  8. My 64 plate 60bhp manual, approximately 36000 miles, has similar issues as mentioned above. I have learned to start the engine with 1st gear selected and clutch depressed and it is ok. Problem is when in stop/start traffic I have to switch the engine off which is a pain. The gearbox is the biggest letdown with the car and in some ways not fit for purpose. 3rd to 2nd and reverse are a pain also. My daughter who is learning to drive and drives my car in between lessons really struggles with the gearbox and it has affected her confidence when she not been able to get it into gear etc. The car is cheap and it feels like it.
  9. My battery lasted four years. I got it new November 2014. It is the 60 bhp se. The last three years I drove lots of short journeys which believe will affect the life span.
