Hi guys, I’ve just got home from a stressful long journey thanks to getting a puncture. I got the 50mph limited spare fitted fine and went to check its pressure. My spare is a 205/55 R16 91V The wheel etc said to check my cars data sticker for the correct pressure. That sticker listed my spare as a 125/70 R18 and 4.2bar - a completely different tyre! Nice and handy Skoda - not. In the end I guessed at 3 bar and it got me home safe. My actually main tyres are 235/45 R18 94W Can anyone tell me what the actual correct pressure is for my spare please? Thanks Andy

Compared to mine, your MPG is about right. On a motorway at a constant 70-75mph it will do between 53 and 56mpg depending on load. Around town however the MPG is quite poor, I've seen it as low as the low 30's. Mine is averaging around 45-47mpg. I've towed with mine once and it wasn't too bad, plenty of pulling power, I however experienced snaking every time I went over 55mph to get up to 60mph for motorway travel. I think this may have been a worn stabiliser pad in the hitch and will try again once they're replaced. Ta Andy

I've got the current 4x4 200TDI DSG Estate. If you are going to be towing, it is the version to have, the extra grip the system affords is brilliant, especially when trying to shunt the caravan about on gravel or grass! That said, driving on dirt tracks is very fun. Economy wise, I find round town it is abysmal - even using eco mode in not particularly heavy traffic I'm lucky to be in the 40's and if I am it's the low 40's. It's a different story on the motorway though, lock the cruise control off at 70mph in any mode and it delivers in excess of 56mpg - and still over 50mpg at 80 (ahem). That would probably be better in eco mode driving without cruise control - I've noticed that the system doesn't go out of gear and to idle when coasting with cruise control on in eco mode - massively affecting economy. The Good - From a rolling start or overtaking you will embarrass most things on the road. - Acres of space. - Far more grip than a FWD variant. - Confidence in bad weather. The Bad - Bogs down from a standing start, not sure if this is the 4x4 or the DSG. - The suspension, lovely and comfortable in a straight line, your passengers are in for a roller coaster ride on bumpy/twisty roads. Hi, the data plate on the door pillar lists the maximum weight of the trailer but not the tow bar nose weight. Which is the amount of that weight being supported vertically by the tow ball and not the trailers wheels.

Hi all, I hope someone is able to help as the digital manual on the Skoda app is useless. I have a 2021 Superb Estate 2.0tdi200 4x4 DSG with the standard Skoda swivel tow bar fitted. Can anyone advise what the maximum nose weight is for the tow ball please? The app says “refer to the registration document” which is pretty useless when you’re away and about to borrow a caravan! Hi All, Long story short, I took a 6hr towing training course a few weeks back using my Superb and whilst the course was excellent, I borrowed my fathers Milenco Aero mirrors for the course - the type that attach with a screw on bracket. Right at the end of the course the drivers side mirror decided to commit suicide and fall off on to the road - shattering into a million pieces! I now owe my father a set of mirrors and being as the Superb will now be our primary tow car I thought it best to get some that work well with the car. After this experience, I thought about acquiring some that have a strap around the mirror to hold them on. What is everyone using or what do you recommend? Thanks Andy

The dealer is talking to Skoda UK Monday. They were expecting the vehicle to have the mode as that’s what their spec sheets say and it’s the basis that they sold me the vehicle on. if Skoda confirm that it doesn’t I will have to consider my position around rejecting the vehicle. One of the two reasons I changed from the Karoq to the Superb was that it retained that mode which I use quite a bit with my hobbies and that was discussed with the dealer.

Hi all. In the past hour I’ve picked up my brand new Superb SE L Estate Diesel DSG 4x4 It has the 4x4 badge on the back and on the gearstick. However the off road driving mode is missing from the computer? According to the manual it should have one? Without it how do you activate HDC which according to the marketing materials it should also have??? Have the factory failed to set up the computer correctly? I’m trying to get hold of the dealer as I expected these features or am I barking up the wrong tree? ta

Hi all, Needing more space, yesterday I part exchanged my Karoq 4x4 SE-L for a 2021 Superb Estate which should be delivered around March. I went with a SE-L in Black Magic in 4x4 200 2.0TDI DSG guise with rear parking camera, tow bar, spare wheel and lane assist. Is there is anything I should be looking out for? Thanks Andy

Just looking at the Brochure for the new Octavia as I'm interested in the Scout. The standard 150PS DSG Diesel is listed as having WTLP emissions of up to 141g/km but it says the emissions are to "RDE Step 1". Does that mean the engine is RDE1 compliant but not RDE2? If so that would mean being stung by a first years tax of £540 instead of £215!

@silver1011 my apologies on not responding, been manic with work. The car would not start again this morning so finally got round to calling out Skoda Assist - they have diagnosed that my MOLL battery is one of the bad batch and has failed. They're fitting a new one FOC tomorrow morning. Thanks for all the advice guys. Andy

Hi all, A little problem appears to be rearing its head on my Karoq which is exactly two years old. The car is being used less during the lockdown but is being taken on an (essential) journey at least once a week, 15minutes each way so I wasn't expecting any issues with it. Last week we went to move it on the drive to get the bins out and it wouldn't start, the battery was flat as a pancake. Even with all automatic systems turned off. We charged the battery and the car started first time so we thought nothing of it. I haven't done the longer run this week but it did a short run to the doctors on Friday and I ran the engine on the driveway yesterday for 5 minutes alternating between idle and light revs. We've gone to move the car again tonight.... won't start.... the batter is again completely flat. I've double checked and everything that could stay on after shutdown is turned off. Any ideas? Andy

Hi guys, I've just refilled my AdBlue tank, the third time I've done it in just over 12 months. The computer showed a 3000 mile remaining range (out of a max 5500 on an 11 litre tank) - the computer said it needed a minimum and maximum fill of 0.75 gallon which works out at 3.41 litres. So I have put in 3.5 litres in two stages - first roughly 2 litres and, then, the remainder of the bottle. On neither refill has the remaining miles counter reset, and is still showing a 3000 mile range - I've even taken the car for a quick drive and it still hasn't reset. Any ideas? Ta Andy

Just had a call off the dealer. They've looked at it, confirmed something is wrong and ordered a replacement bracket(s?) under warranty.

Just to update, Skoda have expressed concern and have asked me to get a dealer to undertake a diagnostic inspection. The car is booked in for next Wednesday.

Hi all, Just happened to glance at the brackets which attach the boot strut pistons on to the body last night. I can see a clear orange discolouration between the bracket and the body!!! Surely the car can’t be rusting already? It’s not even 4 months old!

On a 100 mile run to Shuttleworth which was mostly motorway last weekend I achieved 54mpg at an average speed of 50mph. On the work run I'm getting 42 to 48mpg at the moment.

Hi all, Tried Eco mode for the first time this week and noticed what I think is a software bug. On my VRS DSG Octavia III, putting the car in Eco put both the car and the gearbox into Eco mode. Upon shutting down the engine and then starting back up for the next journey, both the car and gearbox started in Eco mode. On my Karoq, putting the car in Eco mode put both the car and the gearbox into Eco mode. However, upon shutting down and starting back up, the car remains in Eco mode but the gearbox defaults to Normal mode, I have to press the eco mode button again for the gearbox to go into Eco mode. This happens every time and was not a one-off. Is anyone elses Karoq doing this? Ta Andy

Mine sits a good couple of inches higher covering the two metal tie down points. There is a fairly significant lip if I fully fold the seats. It is a steel space saver. As someone else posted it must be something to do with the 4x4 or DSG.

According to the dreaded manual, where you've got your umbrella is the bracket for the Fire Extinguisher. The small Skoda Umbrella was in the boot in its packaging when I picked up the car.

True, I've come from a Mk3 Octavia and used to all the mounting points being exposed with a spare wheel installed. Do like that boot liner though may have to get one of them!
