At least you can order one - Trying to come back to the vRS fold and it is no longer on the website! :(
-
I massively regret selling Frosty (my MK3 Oct estate) and wondered if anyone here had her now? Traded her in under a year ago... CX63 YNZ, white with black pack and canton. I Knew I Should've just mapped and lowered her instead of switching to the A4! :(

The remaining vRS stock out there is very expensive on PCP (due to the new model coming out.... ) I was in the same situation as you, went in the end for an A4 Avant S-line - brilliant decision.

Best lease deals - VRS
sniperpenguin replied to olibluegoat's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
No dealer would actually give me a lease (PCH) quote now that the order books have closed... You may have better luck with lease companies who have "bought" build slots and specs, but with a new model around the corner depreciation (which is effectively what you are paying for with a lease) is higher. Work out the best deal you can find, then look at similarly specced Golfs / Audis to see what the costings are. -
Citigo away and don't come back
sniperpenguin replied to MorrisOx's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
The citigo has been cheapened beyond belief. The partner has a Citigo Sport - The PID is clunky, the radio is from the 90's, and since it needs to be "not as good" as the UP! it lack DAB and refinements. There is also a known "behaviour" with the gearbox meaning it clunks whenever you change gear. Even minimal haggling will get you into a better specced Fabia for the same cash. -
Octavia III Facelift
sniperpenguin replied to 6nations's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
When I was ringing around the dealerships (last week) to see what vRS models were left of forecourts / warehouses to refresh my PCP, there was a 4x4 vRS at Skoda Nottingham. Hold a gun to my head and I'll concede that it MAY have been a diesel, but I cant say for sure. Although to be honest, I would be fine with the pre-Adblue 184 diesel unit that the Octy has. -

Word of warning - Select Car Leasing refused to give / email a quote until they had done a "credit profile" on me. Essentially a credit check by another name - I stopped it when they wanted my bank account details (enough to setup a payment). They refused to email me the quotation figures until I handed them over, so we parted ways. -
People forget two things when buying cars from dealers. 1. Timing is Everything. 2. If you want the best price, flexibility is required. The spec you want, when you want, at the price you want are the three options. Accept that you can have any two, with the third being a bonus

Please tell me I've done the right thing
sniperpenguin replied to Octy0GG's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
There is no other Octavia apart from the vRS. The rest (non-vrs trim) look like old man's cars, unfortunately. No soul to them at all. -
Recommendations for a boot liner

I've just taken the official Octavia rubber boot mat out of my estate as it's going back tomorrow. If anyone wants it, let me know -
Goodbye to Frosty (the Octavia) :(.....
sniperpenguin replied to sniperpenguin's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
I think the challenge in the UK is that the depreciation is a lot higher that perhaps in other countries. There is an 8K (roughly) OTR cost between the Octavia I looked at against the Audi. Deposit contributions Octavia - 1K A4 Avant - 3.5K PCP APR Octavia = 0% A4 Avant = 3.9% **GMFV** Octavia = 8.5K A4 Avant = 14K Yes, there is an extra 6mths on the PCP for the Audi which fudges the figures, but the discount on the Audi pretty much wiped that out, The difference in GMFV was the killer. -

Largely speaking PCP = You have an option to buy the car at the end PCH = You dont. PCH's are leasing, and on the whole tend to be cheaper. However, this depends on the depreciation on the car in question (as that is what is being covered by your payments). In my experience PCH's tend to be stricter on handing cars back too. My advice is that if you may want to keep the car, choose PCP. If you dont care, look at both options and look at it on a cost per month basis. Certain offers (such as dealer deposit contributions) may only be available on one or the other. -
Well, now I've gone offer to the posh-skoda darkside, I wondered if any other Briskodians had made a similar move and found some good resources or could recommend a friendly community? I really like the community here (only other marque I've found with a similar level of assistance to the MG community) and a similar Audi resource would be awesome.
