  1. Hi guys and girls! As the title suggests, my 2015 Octavia Scout threw up the EML and when plugged in, it asked for a new Exhaust pressure sensor. Thats been sorted but the light is still on. Friend of mine thinks it could possibly be the wiring loom from ECU to plug but that would mean a potchy day under the bonnet. :( Has this happened to anyone? Any know of anything different or obvious which I haven't mentioned? Thanks in advance! Joe
  2. Hey all, Its good to be back after some years. Used to own a Skoda Octavia L and K 1.9tdi 2006 but I've out of the Skoda market four some years. Yesterday I bought myself a Skoda Octavia Scout 2015. Really happy with it. What a lovely drive. I'm from the South Wales area. Looking forward to chatting! Joe
  3. Skoda Octavia 1.9TDI 140hp Beige Auto DSG Based in Neath, South Wales (Near Swansea) Part Service History - But Services every year, regardless if under mileage required for service 16' alloy wheels CD head unit with 6 X Change in the boot (OEM) Full leather interior (no rips or scuffs) Front and Rear Park Assist Auto Headlights Rain Sensitive Wipers Headlight washers Large Boot etc 84,000 miles Used as a daily for work by my wife (driven slower than a tree full of slow things) Recently had an EGR delete (to prevent us having to change it again) Remapped from 105hp to 140hp at the same time as the EGR delete for an extra £40 (SCM Remaps, Crosshands, Wales) I am looking to swap for a van and something transit sized (Vivaro/Trafic/Transit) - Something around £3500 - £4000 mark - Would add cash for the right van. In conclusion - The car is solid. The gearbox has been cared for and had a health check with a filter and new oil at 67k. Not due another oil and filter change till 110k (40,000 - intervals). I bought the car at 67k in Sept 2013 and changed the flywheel the same time as doing the oil and filter for peace of mind. Its recently had a new rocker cover gasket also. Its had a service and multipoint check just before Christmas where the CV boot was changed and also the brakes will need new pads and discs shortly. Honest car - Solid runner with a lovely plethora of extras. Comfortable to drive and good for a family run around. Its still very tight and very economical. I only ever put Shell diesel in it or Texaco Supreme in it. Car isn't 'clean' in this pic. Will be detailed inside and out for new owner.
  4. Similar thing happened with my Golf but on a bigger scale, the seals completely went whilst on the M60 outside Accrington, Manchester doing 75mph. Car filled with blue/white smoke which stank and I lost lots of power. Crawled it into the nearest (tesco's) carpark and called the AA. Diagnosed the seals and also towed me home (to Swansea, South Wales ££££££ ) The blue smoke isn't just on startup, its when the car is under boost, or immediately after pulling out from a junction with any speed. Basically when the turbo spools up. I don't know what a PCV is Nick. Could you elaborate? Ive recently had an EGR delete, and also whilst they did that, they remapped the car from 105hp to 142hp. I don't boot the car at all, its the family runabout and I drive it as such. My wife uses it back and fore work about 12 miles a day. Nothing else I can think of mentioning. Gearbox had an oil change last year and a new filter? Hope this is better - Thanks
  5. LoL... spoke to my technical fixy repairer friend today. Said it sounds very much like the seals are on their way out on the turbo. He's recommended replacing the core for the turbo instead of paying the whole lot for the housing and manifold. However, there are a few hybrid turbo's about which are quite reasonable. Anyone done this before or would they recommend spending the money for the whole turbo? The turbo core / cartridge is around £120. New turbo is around £500 - £600 and Hybrid could be around £350 to £400 Cheers
  6. Well, its worse when i put my foot down. I've revved the engine on the drive and it throws a load out then. Worse when its been standing and idling for a bit.
  7. Hi guys! Wondering if anyone can help. I had my Octy go through some issues a few months back where I thought the turbo had gone. Had the EGR delete and a remap to 142hp and the car has been running fine. Over the last few days however, I have noticed that it has been spitting out blue smoke from the exhaust. It was minor initially but now its throwing quite a bit out which makes me think its getting worse lol. For obvious reason's I think it might be leaking oil and possibly from the turbo seals due to a previous experience but I am not sure. Wondering if anyone can offer any advice on an alternative part going wrong in this situation. Thanks for any help you guys offer! Joe
  8. Sounds like you got a Friday car ... mine has been a nightmare as of late too. Would you consider selling privately? You could get much more for your money than a dealer is willing to give you. Other than that, I would say a change is as good as the rest. At least you'll get a used car warranty with a dealer too. Go for it.
  9. Rusty, I've scanned the car. It throws up an EGR fault but again as i said, the EGR has been changed.
  10. lol - With the EGR removed it runs fine, so Im considering a delete...how much does it normally cost for a remap?
  11. Hey all, only me again, I still haven't sorted this problem out and Im at the brink of tears/suicide! As mentioned previously, this all started with me changing my EGR valve. The car was running fine, but the EML came on the dash. Took it to my mate who changed the EGR valve, and put out the light. On the drive home, I noticed the car was then running slightly lumpy and was jerking slightly under acceleration and would intermittently go into limp mode under hard acceleration. I know the EGR was screwed because it was holding pressure/vacuum, so I then knew that this meant there was more to it. I brought it back to my mate who did more tests. We checked the turbo and it would seem that the turbo actuator was a little bit sticky. My mate stripped the turbo down and rebuilt it greasing everything up nicely. However, it still had the same problem. I drove it for a bit of time to see if it would sort itself out but low and behold, as I thought, it didn't. So back to my mate. He then removed the small pipe going from the back of the EGR Valve over to the vacuum solenoid. I took it for a drive and it drove like it used to. I was quite shocked but he seemed to think that it is now the Vacuum Solenoid causing the problem. I bought a used working solenoid from eBay, replaced the old one, but the problem was still the same. After a few miles, it threw up the EML again. I contacted the person I bought the solenoid off and explained I think it may be faulty so he sent another used part, again, we replaced the solenoid fitted to the car and still the same issue. The car only seems to run well when the EGR valve is disconnected. We have checked for pipe leaks and theres nothing leaking anywhere. I don't know what else to do and I don't think its the turbo as the car runs fine when the EGR is disconnected. No issues with the turbo at all. I really don't know what else to check / change. Any ideas anyone? Otherwise Im getting rid...I can't stand this, its so annoying!
  12. How much for a new set for an octavia 2006? Its the fob with Open Boot Lock on it
  13. Yes thats the one. Possibly causing the running issues. Im guessing main dealer only but anyone have a clue how much they are?
  14. Does anyone know what this is called or even a part number? file:///Users/JoeCrookes/Downloads/20141101_173633.jpg Cheers!
