    Phil

I would like to make them work, I don't mind doing a bit and I am very competent when it comes to vehicle electrics. As for confidence if I have a bit of a tutorial to follow then yes I would be fairly confident in doing it.

I think that during the day with the side lights on the car would look much better with a pair of cree / smd side lights and the DRL's on at the same time.

Did you get this working? I am looking to do the same thing in mine

Sorry If I haven't worded it properly. Basically, I want the parking (position) lights and the daytime running lights to be on at the same time when the light switch is on "0".
I got this photo off of google to better illustrate if I'm not explaining it well enough. I want the circled parts to be on at the same time.

Did you manage to get this done?

It depends if you want to do it properly :)

Depending on which BCM is fitted, you might have 2 spare pins that can power sidelights. If you do, you'll need to run a wire to each headunit and find someone to reprogram the lighting configuration to turn them on (not possible with VCDS).

You might be able to tap into an existing lighting circuit depending what behaviour you want but I wouldn't advise it...

Thanks for getting back to me. How would I find out the type of bcm? I'd like it done properly. Do you know how to do it?

  4. Howdy folks,

My apologies for unearthing an old thread. I'm having a similar issue to the above. My DRLs are running all the time lights on or off. Dim when I turn on the lights etc. Not an issue.

I bought a set of W5W LED's for mine. These bulbs don't work at all, never did. Put the new ones in and no joy either. The guy I bought it from said it was because the DRLs are on the car. I've seen the online with both working. The w5w's have wiring at the back of them. I was flicking through the thread and you's have some depth of knowledge RE: the software system on them.

I am wondering if I could get the w5w s bulbs to light up when I turn the switch on to the RHS of the steering wheel and keep the drl settings as they are. Can this be done? I would like to get them all running together if at all possible?

  5. thread revival :D

No. None at all if you get an estate with a 1.9 TDi in it already.

Nothing like it a bit of thread revival [emoji5]

That's good news [emoji2] it's a straight forward swap with engine, Gearbox, clutch, exhaust system and brakes? Nothing will need adjusting or extra mounts? Anything I should do while transferring the engine over? Was thinking of new hoses and boost pipe etc..

  6. bits needed (not a comprehensive list)

    Engine

    ECU

    Wiring

    Gearbox

    Driveshafts

    Engine mounts

    Brakes

    Suspension

    Brake Master cylinder

    Battery

    Intercooler

    Radiator (possibly)

    Lots of hoses

Lots of other bits n bobs

    HTH

Oh yeah, instument panel that displays glow plugs, and a friend who can recode all the junk.

How's it going Lee? I was looking through the above thread and you seem to have a good knowledge of the subject. I was curious to know if you knew, would there be much work involved in putting a fabia 1.9tdivrs engine into a fabia estate?
  7. I bought one off Sy, it's awesome! Looks really good in the engine bay, along with the EGR delete and the blue hoses. All I need now is a FMIC and the rest of the stainless pipes - which i'm currently working on before Trax emoticon-0102-bigsmile.gif

How much was the full set of replacement pipes and hoses in the end? I may have to go down the same route. Economy has gone through the floor. I'm praying replacement pipes and hoses will revive it.
  8. I've got this problem as well. It didn't take 2 hours to find out and I'm not even a mechanic. One of the boost pipes had a massive leak and after replacement another leak turned up as well. Mine were both on the inside and outside corner of the elbow directly onto the turbo.

My question is, has anyone got a solution or custom modification to stop this happening? I'm currently looking to see if metal elbow pipework is available.

Did you manage to find another fix for this problem?
  9. 2004 1.9 vrs? Is it a hard swop on one of these. My temperature gauge goes up and down when going up and down hills? I thought it might be loose, but can't seem to find where it is in the engine bay. Have you any idea where abouts it is?

  10. Hi,

    Late entry,

Just phoned emailed them for the the 90° and no luck (wouldn't split a kit, not really what I was after but they couldn't appreciate that I was just after the below parts). I bought the parts from Creation Motorsport, 2x type A bayonet couplings (60/51mm), 2x mikalor clamps, and 1 x 51mm ID silicon hose. Being dispatched tomorrow will post if the pesky squeal goes.

    Cheers,

    Matt

    Did the pesky squeel go?
